4 of us ate dinner, ordered hamburger, shrimp and grits, ribs, and prime rib. Service was slow. Salads were basic. Caesar salad was iceberg lettuce, some croutons, and mass market dressing. Hamburger was good, prime rib could use a little more seasoning, but cut of meat was good. Ribs were fatty and greasy. Grits with the shrimp and grits was dry and lumpy. Server never came back to check on us. Food took at least 30 minutes to come out. Server brought out a rib eye and said he was probably supposed to order a prime rib. Took it away immediately and brought back a prime rib in about 5 minutes. Best part of the meal was the bread with olive oil. One of the olive oils was infused, but the server didn’t know with what, and said he couldn’t taste the difference.

My friend & I recently dined at Joe’s Steakhouse & had THE BEST EXPERIENCE! We had the most mouth watering delicious steak ever! Their bread is to die for! The dessert is out of this world! The wine list is excellent! The service and the ambience were perfect. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience! I would highly recommend it to all!

I think the food is delicious. Everything I’ve ever eaten there has been exceptional, including the steak. My problem is that, half the time, I can’t ever eat there. They’re open for lunch, but closed inexplicably the day we go there. Today, excited to try the much touted brunch. Website says open at 10. Sign on door days open at noon due to unscheduled repairs. At noon, employees stare at us on sidewalk. No one moves to assist. We knock. A surly waitress informs us they’re closed all day yet she never removes the open at noon sign nor does she switch off the neon open sign. Here’s another potentially great venue in Staunton that will die a quick and painful death if they don’t remove their heads from their butts.

We had their Ribeye and my son had the ribs. Overall the food quality was poor. The steak was way too fatty and overall left me with indigestion. Service was OK if not a bit challenged. Salads were nothing special and the sides were small and what you would get at Denny’s.

You really can’t do better than Joe’s! It’s beautifully decorated and the employees there are simply superb! Try the $9.99 steak, it’s really a great deal for the price and by far one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time! If you haven’t been yet you need to get down to Joe’s and try it out for yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and you can count on the fact that I’ll be back many times in the future!

My family and friends go to Joe’s about every other week since it has opened. The first week they opened you could tell was a learning curve for all, but every visit after that has been great. We try different items every visit and have no complaints, the wine is exceptional and we usually purchase a couple of bottles to take home. The fact you can make reservations puts this place above other Staunton restaurant we visit.

First visit was fantastic!!! BUT the 2nd visit was disappointing. The wait staff was not attentive and service was slow. We waited ONE hour for bread and once the food started coming out, many at our table waited a very long time, when the restaurant was not busy at all. Plus the worst, was that my “very expensive” filet mignon was overcooked.

This place was very good, wine selection was good, salad was very good, steak was excellent, great flavor in the ribeye. Bread was great, had to get more! Definitely going back! Good place to take a date!
