Went in for my first ramen experience. I enjoyed it, but I wasn’t blown away by it, unfortunately. The egg was cold (implying it was already cooked and then refrigerated), and the noodles were not cooked all the way through. I was the only customer there and would have been happy to wait the proper amount of time for well-cooked food. For $18 (ramen, drink, and tip), I wanted more. Hopefully, mine was a fluke since they had such a high rating.

The ramen was ok but not great. The soup was warm, not hot. It had ground pork in it instead of braised pork which I’m used to. Not enough fresh veggies, and too much corn. I ordered spicy ramen, but it was not very spicy. The egg was not marinated at all. The noodles however had a good texture and the flavor was pretty good. There was a horrible sewage type smell throughout the place which is also unfortunate as I think it made the meal seem to taste worse. Overall not worth going back.

Overall would rate this place a 6/10. We went here b/c we didn’t feel like driving all the way out to plano in the evening. Some items were a def miss. In general food was okay. My partner enjoyed his spicy ramen. Karaage was not good. It tasted like it has been sitting out the whole day- soggy, no flavor. Shrimp tempura don was good. The toppings tasted like it just came from a grocery store and was put on topped of the rice. The spam musubi, they could’ve atleast put the sauce that spam musubi is known for. I will say prices are very good.

The food was good but not great. There are plenty of Ramen places in Frisco/McKinney and if you have other options, try those first. I watched the server bring soup out to the wrong table and the after a few minutes grab it and take it to the correct table. Not sure if the original customer had a chance to dip their utensils or not. And our soup came out at two different time. Mine came out way after my wife’s. The server was all by herself and was clearly frustrated and overwhelmed. Please add more staff.

All the food came out exceptionally hot and fresh! The Lemon pepper edamame was buttery and flavorful! The ramen was good but not great. The noodles were more al dente than I would have liked, but i would definitely return and order it again.

Kuma Ramen is a place one must try if your in the McKinney area, and want something off the beat and path. The food was good and I felt it was on the healthier side. In addition, the presentation was spectacular. The food came quickly even though it was pretty packed during my visit. As a special bonus the prices were very reasonable.

This was my first time ever trying ramen, and it was everything I imagined and MORE. The broth was perfect, savory, hot and delectable. The bamboo shoots were delicious and the meat was so, so, so soft and savory. Overall the entire experience was nice and I’d definitely stop by again. The girl that was working there last night needs to work on her customer service skills though, she seemed very angry or who knows what, but we didn’t let it phase our dining experience. So glad you guys are only a few minutes from home.
