This building was about 30 by 36 feet ( very small ) and only seated about 25 people. Today Mary’s Diner is still family owned and operated and employs about 50 people. The Diner also takes great pride in serving the Danville and surrounding areas.

This is obviously a hometown favorite. Country cooking with a twist. The green beans were very tasty. I am so glad we tried a true Mom and Pop restaurant. Support local…..

If you are looking for heritage type country food look no further. The fried pork chops, squash, and banana pudding reminded me of the way my Grandmother made them over 49 years ago.

Food was pretty run of the mill, very average, but was cold to lukewarm when served, also very over priced. Paid 45 dollars on 2 plates and 2 drinks absolutely obsurd pricing. Their banana pudding was very good at least. Still, never coming here again.

Just plumb awful! I had the simmered steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans. What looked to be a respectable steak portion turn out to be about 75% breading. It’s no trick to get cube steak tender; I do it at home all the time. Theirs was like a boot heel. The potatoes were instant, with the accompanying metal taste. Ugh! The green beans were cooked absolutely to death.

Don’t know if Mary Dinner has sold out. Really don’t think, the Farlow family owns it any more. The Vegs were just dumped on the plate instead of putting them in a bowl. The food was terrible. The people there working didn’t act like they knew what they were doing. Will not be going back. Interested in knowing if the original Mary’s Dinner sold out.

I hadn’t heard a lot about this place and I’ve only been past it like several times, But, today I wanted to try something different. I had the Chicken and gravy with Mac and cheese Peach cobbler and Lemonade. The Chicken and gravy we’re okay and the Mac and cheese could use some seasoning BUT…That Peach cobbler…I almost had to go back for another dish straight up DELICIOUS!!! Definitely Homemade. PERFECT!!! The Lemonade, I mean the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade was Awesome. Definitely will be returning to Mary’s Diner the next time I’m in Town. P.S. With a couple of seasoning packets with Me .

It’s always a great place to get some good country cooking. The price isn’t too bad. The people are always friendly.

Food is home-cooked style & good but you have to season it yourself because a lot of people on special diets eat there as well. The restaurant is a cafeteria where you walk through the line & choose your food. They also change their food options daily.

Very Dated. 50s and 60s. The food is good but nothing to write home about and it’s Cafeteria style.
