A surprisingly excellent off the beaten path restaurant. The food was amazing. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. This was the first time I ate there did not even know this place existed, but now I will be back. They smoke the BBQ, and brisket . And they tasted great. The price is affordable,and the owner comes out to check on everyone to make sure their food is good. Thanks to the cook as well. See yall soon

This place has it all. Byrd’s is great for a quick breakfast, lunch or picking up to bring home for dinner. The portions are decently sized. Drinks come in cans or bottled water, with lemonade and tea getting free refills. I love that it is a family-owned business. I try something new each time I go and am never disappointed. If you tried this place years ago, you need to try it again. One of my new favorites places to grab a bite to eat. The smiling faces behind the counter don’t hurt, either.

Great brisket and ribs!! mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and hush puppies were good too! Not to mention the banana pudding!! Delicious. Great spot. Met the owners as well and they are as nice as can be. Kind and customer oriented staff too. Have to check it out.

If your looking for one of those old, established, non-chain, locals favorite BBQ place this is it, look no more. The vibe is 100% authentic and the food is hot, well proportioned and above all a taste experience that is what brings the locals back again and again. It is a little bit “out there” from central Durham but worth the 8 minute drive.

I order delivery from Byrd’s once a week or so – sometimes more. No matter what I get (breakfast or lunch), the food is consistently good. As long as Grubhub keeps it in an insulated bag, it arrives hot and fresh every time. I’ve taken their bbq to my sister in New York, and she loves it too. We grew up in eastern NC, and their bbq hits the spot!

The staff was very pleasant. I ordered take out and food was ready when I arrived. The family enjoyed Barbecue so much we went back for breakfast. They had quite a few customers come in for breakfast. I especially liked the pancakes they were very good. Will be going back for the brisket on the menu.
