Very excellent food, a good quantity of food, “fancy”, and all without a ridiculous price. Would 100% recommend this restaurant and will be coming back next time I’m in town. I had the village bread (best bread I’ve ever had – seriously), the Caesar salad (very good), and the Marsala (very good, but a lot of food)! I took a photo of the Marsala, but it was a little too late…

We ended up having a few more people in our party than originally expected, but the server we had made changes to our seating with little to no fuss. He kept a smile on his face and had a light-hearted attitude the entire time he was serving our party of 23 (originally 20) by himself.

This is one of my most favorite places in Baton Rouge. The bread, of course, is to die for, but so are the cocktails! Service is excellent! Will be back!

5 stars for the 1/2 bottle of Earthquake Zin (Tuesday 1/2 price wine) thank you to Michelle who recommended it. I enjoyed the salad more than the main course. I ordered the picatta, my chicken was cooked very well, but I didn’t love the heavy butter creamy sauce. I feel it needed more lemon, I honestly couldn’t taste any. My husband ordered the seafood pasta medly. It was good, but not amazing. I saw him add salt. Unfortunately I hated the bread that everyone raves about. We let it go to waste after tasting 1 slice each. It was under cooked fluffy white bread (hense 3 stars) the $4 roasted garlic was over roasted with NO flavor and I LOVE garlic, so I was very disappointed. In other photos their bread is browned and looks cooked. They shouldn’t have served the bread we got. I’d go back to try more food if I ever come back to Baton Rouge, I’d definitely aim for Tuesday. My waiter wasn’t great, but the rest of the staff was friendly and the restaurant had a nice ambiance.

The lunch special was amazing! Redfish with some type of seafood stuffing topping! The flavor was perfection and the bread is to die for. Our waitress wasn’t very friendly or outgoing but she got the job done and there were flies in there which was very nerve-wracking while we were trying to eat.

I am an Italian from NY. I should know never to order Italian food in Louisiana stay with what they know, oysters fish bread pudding. This was not a good experience

The food is fantastic! The Village Salad was delicious. I got an off menu entree, pasta aglio e olio, which, while a very simple dish, is often bland and boring. There is definitely an art to preparing it. This was the best I’ve had in years. And, the leftovers were great the next day.

The bread is a MUST! The service is always really great, and they have a great lunch menu! Make sure to add protein to your salad if you order that as your main dish as there are not a lot of ingredients used elsewhere. Regardless, the pasta is great, and the staff is always so friendly!

If you’re looking for a good and filling salad for lunch, this ain’t it.For a $20 lunch salad, I expect a decent amount of protein, but was informed that I received their standard 3 oz of shrimp. The manager did provide me additional shrimp, but I was supremely underwhelmed in the quality and size of the shrimp. Too many restaurants in downtown BR to waste my hard earned money on subpar food.
