We went on a Saturday with almost no one at the restaurant, I had a doubt if the food is good but I was completely taken aback by the food and the service. We had guava margaritas, pork wings and Jalea all of which were delicious. Service was excellent Lili was great in providing recommendations. We will definitely be back.

Awesome place.. steak tacos with homemade salsa verde is to die for.. chips and salsa are free.. Chef Angie Is great.. The waitress Kayla is amazing.. and Annette the best gottdamn bartender/boss lady that I’ve ever come across running an establishment.. went there for my birthday and was treated like a queen and everyone me that was in the place made it their business to wish me a happy birthday.. AWESOME PLACE TO GO!!!! Will DEFINITELY be going back soon.. like maybe tomorrow.. that’s how great of a time I had!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Since La Playa is owned by the same person who owns Chilangos in Atlantic Highlands we were expecting great food. Unfortunately, what we experienced was an overwhelmed kitchen (there was one large 12 top and a 4 top when we were there) and underseasoned food. The one bright spot was the pork wings (small pork shanks fried and tossed in housemade hotsauce). These were fried nicely and still moist. However, the kitchen forgot to sauce them. I was brought out a cup of the sauce to dip it in once the waitress was informed it wasn’t sauced. The sauce was actually delicious, probably really awesome if sauced correctly. The chicken burrito could have beem really good if only the chicken was seasoned. The chicken stayed tender and moist, it just had no flavor. The fish tacos were just ok but one of the tacos.barely had any fish in it. There is potential here but more care needs to be taken with the food. The bar drinks were really good. The website has a very extensive menu but that is not what you get on the menu in the restaurant.

The best strawberry and mango margaritas I’ve ever had. The food is good, although there’s extremely limited vegetarian options. I’ve mostly had fish tacos and the like. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Annette. The parking lot is small, but the location is otherwise lovely — overlooking the beach (with plenty of window-facing tables and an outdoor seating area) and just a short walk to the boardwalk if you want to take a stroll before or after eating. The hours are somewhat limited, especially in the off season, so make sure to double-check before heading over.

I went today and the food was bad, never been there. I get that we are under quarantine but the order took so long which i don’t mind. But the food wasn’t good the shrimps tacos only came with lettuces in the top, my friend ordered chicken tacos and it got a weird taste.

Amazing service, waiter and bartenders are so friendly! I have been here 5 times. The place is very well decoreated and they sometimes have musicians come play live. The food is good, only thing is stay away from the chicken taco, the chicken was all ground up rather than slices or cubed. I think it tasted weird, but that’s just my opinion. The beef nachos and shrimp salads are really good and serving sizes are very big. When my boyfriend and I went we shared an apatizer and meal. You definitely get what you pay for (unless you get the weird ground up chicken which wasn’t good).
