We had a really great time at Five Star. We opted to share the spicy Thai noodles, veggie rolls, crab rangoon and beef dumplings with some house cold Nigori Sake. Glad we did that so we could try a number of yummy items. We enjoyed all of it. The staff was nice and the bartender actually came over to our table to answer some questions about Sake. The decor is so unique. I’m coming back next time I’m in Durham. This is a great place to eat before heading to a show or a night out in downtown Durham as we did tonight.

Amazing vibes in this restaurant and bar area. Looks like great cocktail selection. Super reasonable lunch price to portions if dining in. Great atmosphere inside and nice lighting. Big round tables for large groups of people to accommodate for nicely.

Got the calamari appetizer and it was on point and delicious. The pork belly came out less than hot but the server rectified immediately. Wife’s Shrimp and scallops was delicious. Gave us a complimentary dessert for the pork belly being less than hot.

Would rate higher, but service was only just adequate. There were several within our party that had ordered and one had a food allergy to chili’s. It was sent back several times because it kept coming back with chili’s in her dish. All that aside, the food was good and presentation looked yummy. Although we’d eat here again, we likely will not seek it out for any special reason.

Nice place to eat and have some drinks before the concert. We came in without reservation and were sitting at the bar. The food was good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The new FIVE STAR in Durham is super cool with the colorful graffiti walls and old school hip-hop vibes.

Let me say I Love the Five Star Location in Raleigh and recommended this spot to my boyfriend. We went to the one in Durham and all I can say is I’m highly disappointed and ashamed I brought him after speaking soo highly. There was no energy at all. When we sat down it took several moments for anyone o recognize we we’re there. When we got acknowledged we got water which was poured all over the table. After that we got menus by a blond waitress with glasses. She didn’t how we were, or go over any special food or cocktails if there were any. She left and went to the back of the bar and started talking to what looked liked another employee. We had to flag another server just to ask for unsweet tea which they don’t have and the waitress almost looked offended we asked. After some time we ordered and the food came out way too quickly for even a slower evening. I ordered the five state chicken. The chicken was dry and almost jerky like. The broccoli was hard, and the rice was 3/4 if the way cooked . It was if someone ordered this, didn’t want it. They took it back, heated it up some and brought it back out. My boyfriend ordered the pad Thai. It was decent. But we also order the heat seeker shrimp and them came out in between entrees. During our whole experience no one asked how our food was, how we were, anything basic. I would not recommend this location at all.

Very mediocre food. Had the lo mein, beef dumplings and orange chicken. The orange chicken was dry AF, no flavor, and tasted like it was the frozen one that Costco has. Waiter was not very personable and we had to ask if there were any specials or recommendations, then didn’t come back (at all). Two other people did stop by to check on us, which was great, but overall a very sub par experience. I don’t see this place lasting longer than 2 years at this location.

We were impressed with our first visit to Five Star at ATC. Although we were told they were a little understaffed at the moment, the service was excellent – friendly and attentive – and the food and drinks came out super quick. We had the spicy cucumbers, mushroom dumplings, and Five Star (General Tso’s) tofu and chicken. The food was flavorful with just right portion sizes. My omnivore partner liked my tofu better than his chicken – it was crispy and light, with plenty of broccoli. We enjoyed the music playlist and the restaurant decor as well. Overall, we are very pleased to have this as an option at ATC and hope the restaurant does as well as the Raleigh location.
