I had a really great experience at Log Cabin Cafe, a cozy county-style restaurant that knows how to serve up a delicious breakfast. This place had all the classic dishes you’d expect, but what really set it apart was the unexpected variety of side options they offered. As someone who likes to keep things on the lower-carb side, I was thrilled to find fresh fruit choices like strawberries, as well as sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and other veggies to choose from. It was a refreshing change from the usual biscuits, hash browns, and pancakes.

It wasn’t our first visit, so we knew what to expect. The food was amazing, the service was first-class and even though she was serving the whole cafe by herself, Amber was a real professional. She was polite, efficient and knew how to take care of customers. I would recommend this establishment without hesitation.

This is my go to to take my family for breakfast on the weekends, it is small and can get full quick, when this happens food takes a little long to get delivered to the tables, but never cold. The known locals, which I am not one to seem to get better and faster service but that has not stopped us from enjoying the Log Cabin Cafe. The staff is always friendly.

Had family come in to town so we squeezed our large party into this quaint log cabin and enjoyed the best meal. All the servers were so friendly, the food was excellent and even the customers were kind enough to move to another table to accommodate our large group. Can’t wait to go back.

The log cabin is definitely a hidden gem. Excellent food, along with the employees being extremely kind and courteous. The log cabin is exactly what I like, southern feel with homemade food. They will always have a recommendation from me!

My wife and I stopped here and had breakfast about a week ago and we absolutely loved it!! We shared a chicken fried steak breakfast and a full order of biscuits and gravy. It was absolutely delicious, we ate it before I could take pictures lol. Absolutely fantastic!!!

This is the most welcoming place I’ve ever entered in. It’s too much for me, but I can imagine someone who’s a lot more extroverted than I can easily enjoy this atmosphere. I’ll come back again, just when it’s low on people. But besides that, I enjoyed the food it was pretty delicious. The Tony isn’t something I’d thought of on the top of my head, but it surprisingly worked well together. It’s waffles, gravy, with some meat involved, very nice. I would recommend it to people, it’s very delicious.

It’s hard to find restaurants like this anymore. Kempner is a very small town, so I’m hoping folks from the more populous areas nearby will read this and frequent this eatery. If anyone deserves to have good business, it’s the Log Cabin. I’ve been there about a dozen times and my experience has been the same each time. They don’t seem to have bad days, or inconsistent meals, like many others do these days. Staff is excellent as reviewers have mentioned, but the customers are also very friendly. I literally strike up conversations whenever I’m there and it’s like Old Home Week every time. Just moved back to this area and I eat solo these days, so it’s really nice to find a place where I’m welcomed like family. I’m a vet and this is a veteran owned and frequented business. Top notch comfort food in a very comforting environment. Breakfast is tricky – it’s a lot of food and you will likely eat every last bite, so be prepared to be stuffed! Lunch is every bit as good as breakfast. My Grandfather used to run a Mom & Pop bkft/lunch Diner when I was a kid. Everyone loved it. This place reminds me of those days of quality and kindness in a convivial atmosphere. Everything I want and nothing I don’t in a workday meal. Stop in and enjoy!

Pulled in at 10:55am Friday, but the place is closed and padlocked. Odd. Was looking forward to trying this place. Passing through on our way to Fredericksburg. So the posted hours are wrong.
