The place was empty when I visited, so I can’t say much about the atmosphere. The cashier was really cool I didn’t like the way the pie in the display case looked it wasn’t appealing so the cashier went back and grabbed a much fresher looking pie I appreciate that I did go in right before closing so I didn’t hold it against them that the pies weren’t appealing…

This is definitely one of the better locations that I have been too and the prices for a meal and slice of pie is actually . I love their turkey chili and fork and knife burger. The cornbread is also pretty delish. Anyway, enjoy the photos in no particular order.

First visit to Marie Callendar while in California. It was an unusually rainy, chilly night and it was my last before heading back to NYC. I understood this location had downsized from the previous one not far away. There weren’t a lot of booths, but I saw that most people were ordering take out, so that made sense. It was initially chilly where we were sitting, but eventually the heat was turned on. Service was very pleasant, if not a little slow, but understandable, since it was rush hour and many people were coming in. The big takeaway was that the portions are huge! There’s definitely enough for a leftover meal. I had pasta with cooked and fried shrimp. The sauce was good, but a little too creamy for me. There were plenty of cooked shrimp but only three fried. I had to leave the extra pasta with my hostess for a leftover dish. The cornbread was absolutely delicious! I think they’re known for their desserts and, unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. I had their signature apple pie but it tasted more store bought than fresh. I would recommend the restaurant if you don’t feel like cooking and want something to take home for later or the next day. There are no frills, just simple hearty food.

Website menu doesn’t match and they claim it’s a corporate menu and they’re a small location. Prices were quite a bit higher than online menu prices and no slice of pie with kids meal. Last time we ate inside the bathroom was a mess too. If my kid didn’t pick this place because they like their mac and cheese id be probably never go back except for the occasional pie. I had vegetable soup and cornbread. Both were bland and cornbread was a corner piece that was overcooked. The honey butter was my highlight.
