Excellent food and service. Great strip mall location too. Although, I heard they were closing for good next month due to owner’s retirement…. Which saddens me after so many decades of serving us hungry, Italian food loving Miamians. Good luck to the Nunzio family and thank you for having served us so well.

If you want to spend money on something that is worth tasting, I eat you visit this Italian restaurant, which is very up to what they offer and without a doubt is worth trying. I recommend the fettucine and the pizza with alfredo sauce, life itself

This is a great family run Italian restaurant that has been around for years. I used to come here with my grandparents as a kid and now I bring my own kids here. Food is always delicious and the service is friendly.

I have been going to Nunzio’s since the 1980’s, when they were on Coral Way and 97th Ave. I don’t go as often as I like, since I now live in a different part of Dade County. Last night, I went to Nunzio’s, with my family, to celebrate an accomplishment by one of my daughters. I was glad to see the restaurant incredibly busy with full tables and plenty of customers picking up their “to go orders”. The meal was delicious, as usual, and the service just as good. Towards the end of our meal I asked our server for another order of chicken parmigiana with olive oil and garlic sauce on the pasta, in place of the regular red sauce. She returned after a few minutes to tell me the chef will not make another special order. Initially I thought someone was pranking me and I looked around to see who was kidding around. I quickly realized she was serious. The restaurant was very busy and I decided not to pursue the matter and opted to write this review. I have NEVER been told that I cannot buy a plate of food because I want it a certain way, especially when I had just eaten the exact same plate. Hell, even fast food restaurants accommodate their customers likes and dislikes. I’m not looking for any special treatment but it’s a shame that Nunzio’s now has this type of disposition and person cooking.

Coming here for over 32 yrs. Food is GOOD, but gotten TOO expensive for the area (pasta served at Coral Gables prices). Service has noticeably degraded (not the 1st time it happens) Dining room kind of empty, dining service very slow and not properly timed. OWNER needs to talk less to customers and monitor kitchen/servers. Also asked for entree to go at 9:15pm: ran out of salad and bread, are you serious? If owner keeps dropping the ball, business will continue to go down…what a shame.

What can I say… my wife and I have visited Nunzio’s since 1974. They used to be in a small little place on 97th Ave. and Coral Way. It was a hole in the wall, red and white checker table cloths, and the lines on Friday were quite long. I am a little sad cause I heard that the restaurant is closing its doors, and I know that there will never be another place like it, but I am sure it is for the best, and wish the owner the very best. Will miss it for sure… especially the red sauce… none like it.

To be fair, I’ll base our review against other mom & pop Italian restaurants…The good: the salad and dressing they use is delicious. Sweet & zesty. We ordered a small plain pizza as an appetizer and it was good, thin crust and good cheese. The bad: the meals come with just plan house bread no garlic rolls. I get it…trying to save a few bucks but most places give you at least 2 G-rolls each entree. The veal parm was too salty. The side pasta was ok but my wife liked it. The service was acceptable considering the current challenge all restaurants face now. They weren’t far from 4 stars and 5 is for the best top places. You get what you pay for here which is expected. No bad but not outstanding. Thanks

It’s hard for me to rate this place 3 stars because it is a place my family and I have gone to for years. However, it really isn’t that great. The pasta sauces have no flavor, pasta fillings have no flavor, I’m just not a fan of their pasta. Their pizza is alright and I love their calzones. My favorite thing on the menu is the cappuccino so be sure to try it. I really wish they would step up their past game though because it really is not the best.

Wow! This is a family oriented restaurant the food was amazing. I felt like I was in Naples, Italy. Great place and great food. It’s like a little gem hole in the wall place. Order whatever you want with your eyes closed it is great food. Bread looked deceiving – it was fresh out of the oven soft and steaming hot with great quality butter
