We were really excited to try this place but we were very dissapointed. You are asked to pay before you get your food and are forced to pay when you order unless you have cash to tip you have to include when you pay. The wait was not bad but the flies were driving us nuts. My $22 shrimp and grits was good but that was it. Hubby got the Hot Bird sandwich and it was okay. Daughter got the vegetarian califlower sandwich and it had an egg on top. The cauliflower was battered and fried but they were greasy. Once the food was brought to the table they never check in to see if need anything.

Lovely spot! Really wanted to try the fried alligator but they were all out. The shrimp & grits was my favorite dish out of everything we ordered. Had an absolutely beautiful looking daiquiri that was a tad too sweet for my liking, still hit the spot . Overall 8/10 experience

Their chicken sandwich is messy but PHENOMENAL and I can’t recommend the fried pickles and the frozen dirty south enough. I saw some people say they waited a long time, but I’ve been 3+ times and never had to wait long. I’ve had the poboy before and it was fine but not great (their fries are also super mid). I get why people say it’s not very southern but I don’t care bc the hot bird sandwich is sacred to me.

You go in, grab a menu, order/pay, then get seated. I actually like this concept a lot. Maple butter biscuits: amazing. Carafe of mimosas: great price. Chicken and waffles: delightful. Wait time to get food was pretty long (about 40 minutes), but it was a busy Sunday brunch time.

By far, no question, the best chicken sandwich within 100 miles. The Sunday brunch menu is also amazing. There isn’t anything on the menu that wasn’t great.

This restaurant was suggested to my husband and we stop there for Sunday brunch. The inside seating was full but we preferred outdoor. It was a nice day out. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my husband tried the ladder which was French toast layered with fried chicken tenders. Food was great, really good portion size for the ladder. I think the shrimp & grits portion was a bit lacking. We also tried the bin-yays (Beignets) and some mimosa. Really good flavor. We will definitely be back to try other items in the menu.

On a rainy day trip to Salem we were craving a hot meal to keep the hanger at bay! We had the Shrimp & Grits and the Chicken & Bread Pudding Waffles. It was some of the best comfort food we’ve had in years and the food and service was quick.
