Ms T and I have spent a considerable number of nights back in Muscatine lately and finally had a chance to eat at a few of the local restaurants that we had not been able to try before. I had three meals at El Olmito and found here an excellent homestyle taqueria. Muscatine has at least four credible restaurants; El Olmito, El Allende, Las Lomas and Guadalajara. I have tried them all and rank them in the order given, but all are OK. I have not tried Restaurant Izalco. El Olmito is the real deal.

For a little restaurant this place was great the food was awesome highly recommend. The waitress didn’t miss a beat. She was there always asking if I needed something else. At one point they got so busy I saw the chef come out and start helping. Amazing try the whole menu

i just moved here from louisiana and oh my lord this place has the best birria tacos ive ever had, like ive lived in texas and i swear their birria tacos are like no other! service is so amazing the man at the counter was super friendly. not to mention the pricing is so affordable. definitely my favorite place in all of muscatine.
