My first time trying the food and it was not good at all. The cook was very nice however the curry chicken was barely edible. It did not taste like authentic curry. Taste like someone got a pot and just dumped a bunch of curry in it. Was on the toilet for over half an hour. The yams taste like the aluminum tray that they were in. It was so much better on the greens . I’m just highly disappointed and will never try anything else from them again. I should’ve known better when they put yello rice with curry chicken vs rice and beans. Platter was $25. Which is wayyyy too expensive for a curry chicken platter.

I was excited to finally try this place out. I live around the corner and I called twice before in the evening and they were out of foods that I wanted. This time I ordered in the early afternoon. Mac n cheese was old, burned and dried out. Very sad that they even thought it was ok to sell this to someone. Fish was fresh but greasy as if it came directly from the fryer onto my platter, should’ve let it drain first. Yams tasted weird. The only thing that was good was the cornbread that came with the platter and the lady that took my order was very nice which is why there’s 2 stars and not 1. I don’t know if I caught them at a bad time but they Definitely need improvement on the food.

So, this was my second time coming to Soul Food Artist. I’d ordered the chicken bites platter over the phone. When I opened the platter up, I was pleasantly surprised what I sawed. The chicken bites are more like half tenders. Big, juicy and flavorful. The chicken is a hit. Tried the fishy first time there and the fish is hitting, very good. The yams, mac and cheese and the cabbage are very good. The string beans are okay. I recommend any and all to try them out. It will be worth your time.

Yesterday I ordered side of Yams, mac and cheese. The yams were good but that Mac was just that mac as the cheese was missing and burned from the bottom and sides of the pan. When I chatted with Ray Miller he was very apologetic and offered me fresh mac n cheese. Well when I went back Ray wasn’t there but I had the pleasure of speaking and arguing with the manager who said he serves that all day but he will give me a fresh one. After he returned still arguing that it was nothing wrong with the first one handing me a new bubbly one as if it had dish soap on it, well that ended up in the trash. I didn’t trust it or him with his nasty attitude toward a customer who just wanted what they paid for.I gave 1 star as that is the only way I could post my review.

First time I ate here the food was okay I buy today and the Mac and cheese is old and burnt like come on how you gone sell something that look like this the rice over cooked and the fish isn’t fresh the first time was cool the second time was a waste of money I hope the owner reads this a tightens up the business because it does has potential give it your all and you’ll have a happy customer

We ordered the chicken bites, fried fish, mac and cheese, green beans, and candied yams and it was all phenomenal! The green beans are like something I’ve never tasted before, and the mac and cheese is especially delicious. We will be ordering from here again soon! The portions are nice and big and the flavors are unique.

The food was delicious! And the deluxe brownie was amazing! The fish was very flavorful. I ordered fried chicken wings for my daughter and she devoured her platter before I could take a pic ♀️ . The family was craving some soul food, came across this spot. Staff was very courteous and welcoming. Ordered fried whiting platter w/ greens, mac and cheese, along with fish sandwiches, side of cabbage and chocolate banana pudding. The food was delicious!! One of the best I have had hands down!!
