SF Getaway
So excited to find a dedicated gluten free restaurant and it’s gorgeous with airy light filled atmosphere and delicious food. We chose the Huarache and vegetarian taco. Both looked like the pictures, full of flavor and freshness. Can’t wait to eat them again. The breaded cauliflower tasted good but I expect cauliflower to be roasted… If these were onion rings, I’d be raving. The dragonfruit margarita was over off the best margaritas I’ve ever had-a fresh twist on a classic and delicious to boot. Service was friendly and well paced. I might bring a jacket to eat dinner outside because the plaza was so pretty. Though eating again inside would be a special treat. Restaurants in SF are rarely this spacious.

If you are looking for gluten-free options, Xica is the place to visit! They have the most interesting spins on Mexican food. We tried the ceviche, taquitos, and grits. Nothing disappointed. My partner tried the tepache and I ordered a cocktail that wasn’t memorable. It’s the food that really stands out. Also you have to try the “pink” tortillas that are made with dragonfruit. Really interesting texture! And the ambiance/decor can’t be missed. It’s in a perfect location for a stroll afterward. Just be patient with service. I think they’re still getting the hang of it.

Whenever it is nice in SF, I wonder where can I eat outside? Xica is the answer. Beautiful outdoor seating on Levi’s Plaza with pleasant waterfall, in a spacious setting uncommon in SF plus ample metered street parking. The server recommended Chicken and Waffles and both were absolutely delicious. My friend loved the chilaquiles with choice of red or green sauce. A perfect unhurried meal (though the food was served quickly).

Overpriced and under delivered. They charged me $15 for a few chips and some guacamole, which is insane! The horchata literally just tasted like water with a tiny bit of milk and cinnamon. Horrible!

Charming restaurant in a beautiful setting. Indoor and outdoor patio seating. Love the colorful, tasteful decor, friendly staff. So thrilled to have this open in the neighborhood! Food was really good, looking forward to coming back to try the cocktails and more!

Update 5/30: Still love this place but the quesadilla seems to have gotten significantly smaller than it was when they first opened. It now resembles a taco in size and tortilla is now half pink/half white vs fully pink. Still tastes amazing but I would expect the larger size tortilla at $17.

Some of the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Highly suggest trying an off-menu drink called “Agua de Jamaica”.

MUST try their hibiscus tequila margarita!!!! Their chicharrones, elote, and their plain quesadilla with handmade tortilla were also delicious! Our server was super friendly and came over the perfect amount of times. The entrées were ok, we had the carne asada, tacos de birria, and tostador de atún.

I got the tacos none of them had cilantro just the guac sauce and onion. The steak and chicken were decent. The shrimp one was raw shrimp, not even exaggerating. They took it back but I was very underwhelmed. It’s a beautiful place. Not very interested in returning.
