On my way to meeting and mapped restaurants in the area. The higher reviews brought me here, and it was a great decision! I got the Costa azul plate, I ate it all – generally I don’t finish beans and rice, but they were that good. I ordered a shrimp taco too, OMG – will come back to explore the shrimp and gobernador. The batter on the fish taco was amazing! Well now I’m having the coco flan…never had one before…it’s awesome. Despite so much I’ve just eaten, the food hasn’t been heavy. My husband and I stopped in here for lunch on a Friday. The food was very good but what we really enjoyed the most was the service and atmosphere—it felt like the kind of family neighborhood restaurant that just doesn’t exist anymore. Very reasonably priced and we were well taken care of. I highly recommend if you want a cozy, relaxed, and reasonably priced place to eat. I recommend the tacos governador.

I had best Mexican culture and food experience at this restaurant. It’s a small cozy place. The chef and her daughter is really nice and friendly. Me and my husband ordered two dishes. One is Camarones Al Majo De Ajo and other one is Vegitarian Burritos. We also ordered a homemade Flan. Wow no words. It was mouthwatering. If you ever visit Artesia, don’t forget to visit this place.

First off, the place is small so a large party is problematic. We had seven and it took a very long time for food to arrive and about 10 minutes from the first person served to the last. Food was good, especially the salsas, but nothing really stood out to make a return trip worthwhile.

We contracted food poisoning from this place. My girlfriend had the Menudo and became very sick from it, I also tried some and became sick. She spent the next days vomiting with diarrhea, cramps, stomach pain, nausea. When I called the lady that answered said she wasn’t allowed to give her name out, and to call the manager 4 days later when they come in. The menudo had a decent taste but felt like it was old maybe recycled from weeks past. I would recommend anyone eating here to check the food quality as it is served to you.

Nice cozy little restaurant. The food was a lot better than I thought. I enjoyed the chips & salsa (both red & green) as well a small dish of beans sprinkled with shredded cheese. Besides the usual beverages they make their juices, cucumber was excellent! The plates look delicious & presentation includes some tasty garnishes. The restaurant is located in an L-shaped business center with plenty of parking. A little hidden off a busy street (Pioneer), but definitely a hidden gem.
