Last time I visited the Cascade Cafe was over ten years ago with Mom. At the time the food was reataurant level food and they gave discounts to government employees. We had a proper meal.

Disclaimer: I only had coffee here because food was not available. Checking the menu it seems overpriced

A wonderful place to eat inside. The best value is a salad with a flat rate of $13.25, you can choose your own toppings. The pickled onions like weird but are delicious!

I visited this café this past weekend with my mom and son. I googled places to eat in the area prior to our day trip to the area. My son and I had the pepperoni pizza with French fries and orange juice and cranberry juice for a drink. As well as a slice of chocolate cake and lemon cake. My mom had a chicken Ceasar salad. The cleaning staff and staff at the Gelato and espresso counter were friendly and helpful. However, the food servers seemed pretty stand-off ish. My son & I pizza were cold, we ended up sitting way over but the waterfall/ window so walking back to have it reheated would have been a task. Also, I only took two bites of my chocolate cake, it lacked any richness. I will say that my mom’s salad looked great and she ate most of it so I’d say it tasted okay. Her and I were both shocked by the bill of $75. Overall, I would not visit this place again unfortunately.

Most disorganized cafe I’ve ever ordered at. One hour of an industrial engineer would double their revenues. Great water cascade, though, to watch with your coffee and gelato.

Pretty place to sit & watch cascading water through a big window & great people watching as museum visitors stroll by. The food selection is limited & rather bland tasting. The prices are a bit high. Service is slow but but as it is mostly self service, it doesn’t matter too much.

It’s disappointing that the government would choose to allow a private contractor to price gouge people ($6 for a small juice bottle) instead of providing food service on their own.

The cafe has a nice waterfall but food is awful! The salad is probably 3 days old with signs of discolouration (see picture). And the cost is $11!

Love the art, hate the food. Over-priced, made and served by people who don’t care. You’re better off eating before/after elsewhere or have a picnic on the Mall.

I waited 25 minutes before going up to the manager to ask him where my latte was, and I watched him remind the workers who begrudgingly made my order when there was no line behind me. Half of the cup was thick foam, and after a few sips, I ended up throwing it away. People who eventually ordered after me got their drinks before me, so I am assuming they lost my order. The manager was nice enough, but the workers there had a huge attitude, and I witnessed them being unkind to a lady in front of me. Quite a terrible experience.
