Came for the Prime Rib special. It was decent. $8.00 off. Prime Rib wasn’t hot, but the broccoli was? Refill service was a bit slow, and I only had water. My brother’s drink was super strong, and also $9.00 He had the escargot. He liked the cheese and the mushrooms it came with. Good bread, nice place. If I lived nearby, I’d come back.

We had no problem getting a reservation on a Saturday night. Our server was very attentive and good at the job. Everyone’s food was prepared correctly and it was tasty. Overall a good place to eat.

Do not judge this place by the outside or the inside outdated atmosphere. The staff is top notch!! Thank you Bruce. The food is absolutely amazing.!! Prices are reasonable!! We highly recommend the Black Pearl.

Our Widow’s Group from church went Sunday after church! The ladies all LOVED it! The food was DELICIOUS and the service was GREAT and Bruce & Alicia were so friendly and helpful and gave GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! All the ladies are already talking about wanting to go back! We really enjoyed our time!

Was recommended this place after walking in and leaving another. We are so so happy the couple by us recommended the black pearl. The food, service and prices and atmosphere were out of this world. The waiter was patient with us since us girls got a little drunk from before and was the best. I give this place a 10. We were there last night with a large group celebrating a milestone. My husband and I ordered the Queen cut prime rib…their specialty….we ordered them “medium rare”. I even said “reddish/pink”. When we got our food they were medium….no hint of pink or red. When my husband said something to the server, he argued with us. Since our host was picking up the tab, we just let it go. We will NOT return. And for a Friday night…. there were very few people in the main dining room. The Escargot was horrible too! Hidden with cheese, bacon and garlic! Escargot is supposed be sauteed in butter with a little lemon. The French would be insulted! Do not go here!

Literally the worst steak I have ever had. Zero seasoning and tasted like water. First time in 15 years I had to use steak sauce. Drinks were 99.9% alcohol and .1 mixer. When we asked to have the drink removed because it was basically a shot the manager gave half off . Who ever made the drinks needs anger management .

The outside of the building has awnings that need to be replaced. Upon entering, the design of the building and decor seemed very dated, but somewhat interesting. The bar was small and no seats were available. Traveling to our table took us across sticky flooring. While ordering appetizers we found that we couldn’t custom order because they were “pre-assembled’. The handmade meatballs were under seasoned to the point of being unseasoned and swimming in grease. The salad was obviously bagged salad. The chicken parmesan was a disappointment. The chicken was obviously made from frozen, not fresh. And, the pasta was very watery. This meal for 2 (including a bottle of wine and tip, but we weren’t masochistic enough to order dessert) was $100. For this price range there are much better options available in Toledo. The waitstaff did well, but they are the only positive I have for this review..

So, this is my second time eating at Black Pearl. My first experience was light years better than my second. Overall it was a very very disappointing experience. I pulled up on Sunday to an empty lot. Red flag 1. The look of the room we were placed in 2. We had to beg our server for bread. Kitchen was very slow getting food out to us, eventhough the restaurant was practically empty. I mean EMPTY. 3. The salad was pitiful. I mean they literally, chopped up a head of lettuce and threw it on our plates. The homemade dressing “epic FAIL”. You can get a better quality meal at Red Lobster. The steak I ordered was garbage. It tasted like old funky gym socks. Long story short, I probably will never eat there again. So disappointing .
