I’ve been to a lot of Sushi places across the country, from NYC to the West Coast. But none have come even close to being as enjoyable as an experience as Shige’s. The food was great, the price was reasonable and the service was nothing short of amazing.

Wonderful restaurant. Shige has been making Sushi in the Boise area for over 30 years. He remembers many regular customers even after they move away. It’s fun to visit him when I come back to the area. My favorite is Tobiko with Quail egg (photo included).

My favorite sushi spot! Everything is made fresh and is both delicious and authentic tasting here. I love their selection of sushi, traditional Japanese dishes, and appetizers. The owners/staff are great people and always put a smile on my face when I stop by. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

We were excited to try a new place, but sadly were very disappointed in our experience here. The sushi was about what you would expect for the price so I wasn’t upset over that. However, between frozen salad, sukiyaki with chewy meat and zero flavor, and some off-putting interaction with the server, we will not return. I wish I had taken pictures, because the photos on other reviews has food that looks fantastic, but ours looked nothing like that tonight. I’m not picky, but this was extremely disappointing.

This place has really gotten worse since I last went in. I went to sit at the sushi boat bar like I usually do. They have done away with the color code system. Now there are no cheap plates. The problem is all they serve is the cheap sushi. Literally 90% was California rolls. Sure this one has one topping and this one another topping, but its all California rolls. I really noticed this because I am allergic to avocado so I couldn’t eat 90% of the boats.

Great restaurant! The service is always very attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and consistent. The menu has a good variety of sushi and other traditional Japanese dishes. My favorites are the Sukiyaki and Tonkatsu!

Best sushi I’ve had in a long time!! The staff is exceptionally friendly. Mt favorite part was the salmon roe. Usually it’s small little eggs, but they were huge. Definitely! Definitely going back!

The salad was frozen so that wasn’t a great start. The sukiyaki was completely devoid of flavor, I couldn’t finish it because it was so bland. The miso soup and sushi rolls were fine but not enough to redeem the overall bad experience.
