One of my new favorite breakfasts in Crystal Lake! The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable booths. The menu had lots of great options, but wasn’t TOO long. Lots of classics to choose from, and an extensive milkshake list too! The burger was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the breakfast quesadilla. Good coffee too. Will definitely be back!

What a nice breakfast place. Great menu with American and Mexican style breakfast items. The wait staff is super friendly. Good hot coffee. The decor is warm and inviting. It was a very short wait after ordering until hot fresh food on our table. Prices were fair.

Amazing food! I loved it! I grabbed take out for myself and when I ate it, it was still fresh! I got sausage, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. Eggs were scrambled to perfection and the sausage and hash browns were crispy! The pancakes were fluffy and it hit the spot. Portions are large and the prices are reasonable for them! If you’re ever in town, support small businesses and make sure to make some time to stop by here!

Update: Different visit as we enjoy the food and as usual food was terrific. Unfortunately, I can not say the same about the service. Polite, but extremely slow. Well, over 40 minutes to get our food. It’s breakfast, no reason for that long of a wait. What also amazes us is when a breakfast restaurant can’t cook eggs. If you aren’t going to cook them the way we asked for them, then don’t bother asking how we want them done. Despite the terrible service we enjoy the food and will go back.

Our first time here & the best breakfast we’ve had in a long time. Everything we ordered tasted so good & we’re picky about pancakes! Great menu choices. Service was excellent & prices were very fair. We will definitely be coming back!!

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Love the high back booths which provide a feeling of privacy. There are also plenty of tables if that’s what you prefer. All the seating is extremely comfortable.

Worst breakfast ever. Firstly, our food took almost 40 minutes to arrive to the table and they weren’t even that busy. Being a pancake house, you’d expect the pancakes to be really good. After adding a minimal amount of butter and syrup, my pancakes turned to mush. Hash browns were pasty and not evenly cooked. My husband ordered his skillet with eggs over hard and they came over easy. Atmosphere isn’t warm either. Decor is tacky. Such a disappointment. This place doesn’t belong in downtown Crystal Lake.

The employee was very nice and service was quick but we were the only customers in there on a Thursday Morning at 8am. We got french toast pancake eggs and sausage. It was okay. Sausage was undercooked for my sister I encouraged her to say something but she didn’t. I had french toast but idk if my taste buds were off or what but didn’t have much flavor needs some vanilla and cinnamon in it. The atmosphere was a little confusing the chairs that say Carlos on them were cute but not for that breakfast place they all said seafood on them threw me off and the mix of decor isnt very pleasing. Also the music that was playing was not something you want to listen to in the morning eating breakfast. But overall it was ok.

Went for the first time after hearing good things. Stood there for about 15 minutes without being acknowledged. They were busy, but the hostess approached several times without saying a thing. Eventually left and attempted to contact the establishment without response. Common courtesy is a must in the restaurant business.

Top notch food and reasonable prices make this place one of the gems of downtown Crystal Lake. There are a lot of breakfast options around the downtown area– Carlos sets itself apart through quality, taste, and offerings. The corned beef skillet is excellent. Paired with a short stack, there aren’t many dishes in the same area that are near comparison. Highly recommended.
