This is no regular eat in pizza place – you actually can’t eat in the restaurant at all. This is a real “Chicago Pizza place” and when you see the prices it’s a bit shocking to pay as much for a pizza as a nice sit down dinner. Prices are about the same as their competitor Giordano’s. Both pizza places were founded in Chicago and both are known for fantastic deep dish style pizzas.

We expected to be able to eat at the restaurant and we were disappointed that it was just a carry-out. But we decided to order and wait. The Chicago Classic was delicious. The crust is unique, like a bowl that holds the ingredients. It’s not a traditional bready crust, but in a good way, almost like a cracker texture. The sausage was lean and not greasy. There was a lot of it in large pieces. The cheese was plentiful and stretchy. But the sauce. .so yummy. It topped the pizza and had chunks of tomatoes. It provided a good taste to the pizza. It was hot and fresh when we got it home, about 15 minutes away. We also got The Lou, which is a veggie option. It had the same structure with spinach, mushrooms and sliced tomatoes. It was a tasty pizza, but doesn’t compare to the Classic. The only downside is the cost. We got a large (30) and medium (26) for $60 total, which just fed four. It is worth it, but definitely a treat. As a bonus, it’s next door to Crumbl Cookies!

After a poor first experience, the manager of this Avon location reached out and wanted the opportunity to get my business again. It was a nice gesture and one my wife and I appreciated. The second time around was much better. The thin crust was much better than the deep dish.

It was my 1st time and I have been wanting to try this chain but since none were close enough to my home to buy and travel, I didn’t. Finally there was one on the way home and today was the day. I placed my order and paid online. That was really easy and simple. I ordered “The Lou” and added sausage.

First time going, pizza was hot and fresh… I asked for lil pizza sauce which they did right, next time get the regular pizza sauce cause it had just enough to thin layer on top of pizza…. will be back

5 star reviews are obviously employees or corporate people. Absolutely terrible first impression. The food was disgusting. I ordered a medium deep dish pepperoni, cheesy bread, bruschetta, and drinks. Where to start you ask? The bruschetta bread were black well done crackers. The cheesy bread was barely tolerable, the drinks were warm(understandable I guess), and the pizza was absolutely horrid. The sauce was good, the mozzarella under the sauce was cold and rubbery and they didn’t bother to cut it even a little bit. What an absolute tragedy in your first 2 weeks of opening. Oh and they forgot my bruschetta until I went back and showed them my receipt and by the way, I waited from 5:30 when I ordered, until 6:45 to get my food when the time said 6:15. I cannot express enough on the high hopes I had for this place. Extremely disappointed

I hate to be another one that agrees with all of the other reviews. I have ate at Lou’s in Chicago and liked it. We tried the Avon location tonight and it was awful! No flavor, and complete imbalance of toppings. It was not good. My husband and I made it through one slice each. The rest of that large pizza is going to waste because we couldn’t bring ourselves to endure another slice. Very disappointed!

I ordered the large Classic Lou and added mushrooms along with and Medium olive and sausage deep dish pizzas. They also added about 1/8 cup of water on each pizza to keep them from drying out.

By far my favorite Chicago pizza! Such a good taste of home, if you’re gonna get a Chicago pizza you have to get the deep dish. Just like a lot of locations in Chicago, it’s a take out joint. Personally for me, I would rather enjoy my pie in the comfort of my own home. The staff there are nice and friendly, and it’s easy to get in and out.

This is the best pizza! We have ordered a few times now and each time the pizza has been amazing. We have gotten pizza, garlic bread, and cheesy garlic bread and the flavor is wonderful. I would upload a pic, but my family devours the food too fast to take one.
