Not to happy with this place the staff was very friendly but more like salesmen trying to sell you their products. I ordered their ribeye steak med rare and it come out almost well taste like it had almost no seasonings, my wife had the ribs and they had almost no seasoning and tasted like they had come out of oven instead of a pit they had no smoke flavor at all. Will definitely never return here.

The facility itself was clean and very nicely done. The food was average, though. They weren’t very busy and we waited quite some time for our server, and again for our food once it was ordered. The prices were decent, but you get what you pay for. The mashed potatoes were either the silkiest smoothest potatoes I’ve ever had, or they were instant potatoes. I’m leaning towards the latter. The soup tasted canned, and the steak was way over salted. I ordered a burger for my toddler and they brought him chicken strips which ended up being pretty good. In fact, his chicken strips and fries were better than my steak and my wife’s pork chops. Kinda a bummer because we drove two hours from Oklahoma on a friend’s recommendation. Time for new friends it seems!

My family and I were on our yearly vacation for the Mena Rod Run and we stopped in the Chopping Block to have dinner. We had a party of 15 and they easily were able to accomodate us. We had the absolute BEST server, Misty. She was phenomenal! She made sure we all had drinks at all times, she had a wonderful attitude, made us feel welcomed and like she was part of the family. She never once complained and was a pleasure to be around. The food was amazing; ribeye, fried pork chop, fish, everything was amazing. We will definitely be back and if you happen to stop in ask for Misty, you will not regret it. Thank you for such an enjoyable dinner. Here is a picture of us and Misty.

This place was average at best. Our go to for dinner while in Mena has always been the Branding Iron. However they recently closed which is an absolute bummer. So we thought we would give this place a try. With its long history, western decor and log cabin look and feel it immediately reminded me of the The Big Texan in Amarillo, Texas. But hold your horses, because this place isn’t even close to that place. Service was average. The first tale tell sign that things were not going the right way was when they brought my wife’s hot sides out a good 15-20 min before we got the food. On the plus they kept my drink full. Once we did receive our food everything looked fairly appetizing. However they had to replace my wife’s sides. Instead of bringing her fresh ones they just heated it up in the microwave and it looked disgusting. She enjoyed her catfish and shrimp. I ordered the Filet and backed potato. The backed potato was good. A little on the small side but that was okay. The Bacon wrapped Filet was a complete disappointment. Zero seasoning on the steak. It was wrapped in at least 5 pieces of the thinnest bacon I have ever seen and because of that it was flabby and the steak didn’t even seem to infuse any of that delicious bacon flavor. I found myself melting some butter over the steak and and some SP (Salt & Pepper). That made it so much better. As for being cooked right it was spot on at a medium-rare.

The NY Strip steak was the perfect temperature (ordered med rare) and was one of the most flavorful I’ve ever had. Our server, Dani G, was very attentive to our needs. The owner walked through the dining room to make sure everything was as it should be. All in all, a full 5-star experience.

The food is delicious. Gypsy had the hambger steak with a baked potato and dinner roll. I had the chicken fried steak with french fries and a dinner roll. The restaurant was well kept and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. They have a meat market and the steaks looked very good. We definitely recommend stopping by and getting a very good meal. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

This is a wonderful homestyle diner with warm and enthusiastic service. The Chicken Fried Steak was hands down THE BEST I’ve ever had!!!! I recommend this place highly!!! The blonde daytime waitress is kind, efficient, and thoughtful.
