So I have been to my fair share of malls around the united states and I am used to overpriced low quality food options at the food court. To my surprise there were many great options. For me though Mexican has always been my absolute favorite food and so it was an easy decision to try this place out. I went in without expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. The food is real food and you can tell it was not processed or pre frozen or from cans. The staff was very warm and accommodating. The Burrito I ordered was large and delicious. 10/10 will recommend and I 100% will be returning my next mall visit. I have seen other people have had less of an experience but I would give it a chance. From what I learned at restaurants and diners, the competency and skills of the cooks make or break a place and whoever was working today at 5pm on 08/30/23 knew exactly what they were doing.

I am not sure why this restaurant only has 4.1 stars. They catered our families wedding proposal celebration. It was fabulous. All the food was delicious. Delivered on time. Gabriel set up and very helpful. We do not live in the area but when ever we come to visit we will be frequenting Taquizas Gabriel! Love it!

Wow. All those 5 stars really tricked me. Perhaps they’re coming from the bars or something because this was the worst $40 I’ve ever spent. The bean and cheese burrito was so salty my kid wouldn’t touch it. The “asada” is really crumbled ground beef— think Taco Bell meat—NOT the “asada” your thinking of. The fish taco was inedible. The “chipotle sauce” is literally a fat glob of mayonnaise. Disgusting. I couldn’t even swallow it. Threw the whole plate away immediately. My husband the human garbage disposal didn’t even like it. I’ve never had leftover street Mexican food. The only thing salvageable was the asada fries. I guess the hard churros were also edible. If you’re ever unfortunate enough to eat here, I’d get the fries minus the meat. This brings food trucks to shame. So disappointing & unexpected considering the other reviews. 1/14/2022 6:30pm pickup.

Edit after owner replied saying “Next time order less food if you don’t want to spend so much”: Wow, what a horrible response to a customer. If the food was good and portions weren’t for a toddler, I wouldn’t mind the price. You don’t even address anything regarding food quality. Just Horrible. (He changed his response after this saying to have a great day)

This guy is the real deal. These are the best traditional style tacos in Santa Cruz. His joint in the Capitola mall is a must-try.

Gabriel catered our wedding – it was absolutely fantastic! My wife and I have been stopping by his food truck since then. When Gabriel is working the food is always top notch – some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. we went to the location in the mall at the food court and it was crazy expensive…. For not a lot of food. The food truck is way better.

Great people and great service, hired them for my son’s birthday party event and the food was delicious. They came prepared and organized as well.

We bought into the excellent reviews, but were disappointed. First of all too much mayonnaise sauce on my fish tacos. Grilled fish I ordered got completely lost in the mayo mix. Have I scraped it, I’d loose tomatoes and cabbage, which are essential to fish tacos.

Was really good, but incredibly expensive for a taqueria. One birria Torta, one kids burrito and two drinks came out to $36.50 was way to much, hard to say if I’ll go back
