This was the only coffee shop open past 4pm on Friday, so thank God for ya’ll. I got an iced latte woth honey and lavender. So good! It’s was a nice quiet place (at least the hour we went). They have a couple small tables outside so those who’d like some fresh air. Their cookies were good as well. The girl working was very sweet, even when it was time to close up and we were still sitting there. Would definitely come back when in town again.

We ended up here because all the other coffee shops around were closed. Lady working was super nice and helpful, but I wasn’t impressed with my drink. I ordered an americano and it was mostly water. Barely any coffee flavor at all and still Luke warm…..I think she accidentally put too much water, so then there wasn’t room for ice. If I didn’t live 18 hours away I would definitely give it another shot, but first impression wasn’t great.

I travelled to Charleston and this cafe was near the area I was staying at so I went. I met a young lady named Chloe and she took care of my order. She was so kind and her service towards was very nice! She made the best Vanilla oat latte i ever tasted :D. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Best coffee I’ve had in a long time. I had a pourover of La Ventolera from Colombia. Wish I could be a regular…alas I will have to be a regular patron of their beans online. Friendly service, cute cafe with a small amount of seating.

I couldn’t love Second State anymore!! It’s my go to spot in Charleston for bags of whole bean (can’t even pick a fave!), iced lavender lattes with oat milk and their granola bars at the counter. I love each location, but my fave is the one in Oyster Park which is close to my house and a great vibe for working on admin work between paintings as a Charleston based artist… always fueled by the best! Speaking of the best.. CHLOE is the best barista! She’s knowledgeable, fun, sweet and so dang cute. Not that cute matters, but it’s like the lavender in my latte… just an extra lil bit of goodness! I’m always and forever Second State’s biggest hype girl! Thank you for your quality and vibe for all these years! Keep it up, pretty please! 🙂

Originally found this little location on accident, but this is by FAR my favorite coffee shop to hang out and do homework at, the staff is so kind and the coffee is the best in the area (and I am fairly confident I have tried every place in the area, as a college student I’m always scoping out new spots!). Cute, clean, great atmosphere and location, would give more stars if I could!

Chloe and Madison at second state make the whole experience awesome! They are super friendly and ask me about my day, my family and I look forward to seeing them every time I come in!
