I had stopped at this place about two years ago and this time that I was visiting I was eager to go back, I have to say that I was very disappointed with the food, I ordered the mole Azteca, cochinita, shrimp and fish tacos, one tamal Azteca and two margaritas. The food didn’t have any flavor at all the shrimp were miniature shrimp and the fish was just plain. On top of that they tried to overcharge me for the food adding stuff that I didn’t order.

The location, staff, and food are all 5 star. I’ve been going here for 5+ years and each time I go, they never disappoint! The burritos, tacos, and nachos with asada are delicious. The desserts sell out quick so you have to go early. I love La Tortilla. It’s saved my life many nights in the Castro. Haha!

I’m use to the mission district home of the burritos I only went here because I had a job to do over there but there is no parking and very small seating inside. Burritos needed more sour cream they were selfish with the cheese on my burrito then when I said can u put more she says oh Extra. Remember when dey say extra dey charge u more. Scale 1-10 I give it a 3.

Absolutely amazing Mexican food! I come from Texas where there’s never a shortage of delicious and authentic hispanic food, so I was expecting to be underwhelmed in San Francisco. However, La Tortilla exceeded my expectations! Very pleased with the food! There is also a bathroom in-store, but it’s for customers only.

It was okay. Guy at cashier not the nicest but ladies that wrapped my burrito were nice and friendly. I wouldn’t mind them being more generous with the chips, salsa was wildly hot but I liked it! Unfortunately, things weren’t super well seasoned even tho weren’t bland as well, thats why Im not giving more stars. My al pastor burrito in the pics.

I had been meaning to try this place out and I’m unfortunately disappointed. The prices aren’t so bad for everything, but the food is not that great. It’s decent at best. Pretty greasy and it is the opposite of ‘made with love’. I would eat here again if I wanted to eat some Mexican food, but didn’t want to order for delivery from somewhere else or make the journey to another part of town with better Mexican food. The staff aren’t exactly the best either.

Excellent street mexican food and super good value for money in the area. Pity that the inside atmosphere is not super!

Pricey – but what in San Francisco isn’t? The real problem here is the lack of flavor. Tried two different types of meat and both were equally disappointing. The chicken had absolutely no flavor to it, the mole tasted watery and straight from the can. The rice had absolutely no spice, and the beans were extremely bland. I know there are many people who prefer Mexican food without all the “spice;” but if you’re anyone else, go elsewhere.
