A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The food was surprisingly fast! I never think about eating here because I get stuck in a loop eating at McD and subway. I wanted something different and noticed Captain Ds. Place was super clean, smelled good, and food was perfect. I’m not exaggerating. Nothing overcooked or warmed up. They did a good job on my first visit. Support good Buisness like this, we need them!

Shrimp was burnt and hard, compared to my boyfriends shrimp. Waited a long time for our food, line of people waiting also I heard someone say they was waiting a hour. One guy said he would be back for his refund. I didnt get my hush puppies, wasnt asked if I wanted a drink with my meal. Which I thought came with a drink. They only have 2 people working it seems at a time. Need more employees!!!

Only one person at counter and 1 cook. Had a little duration than normal wait on food. Mac&cheese was a little mushy and i know they can do better. Green bean are always good. Shrimp should have been better hot temperature when brought out. The staff were friendly and doing their best. I do recommend. Davis hwy is the best captain D restaurant.

First time trying Captain D’s. I tried the chicken dinner with a baked potato and mac and cheese. It also came with two hush puppies. The chicken was thick and tender white meat chicken. I’m on the fence about the coating I will have to try again but flavor didn’t seem to be the greatest. The baked potato was generous with sour cream and butter. However it was steamed or microwaved so there was no crispy skin at all. The hush puppies were very bland, and the mac and cheese was kind of just one small spoonful clump and was just okay. The meal was $ 11 ish. I’m not sure what I was expecting but I’ve seen a lot of people post on other sites that they thought it was good. I will definitely give them another try though. I will try the butterfly shrimp and possibly the green beans with ham, and maybe the jalapeno poppers. I’m not a fish eater other than shrimp so maybe this place is just not for me.

The food at captain d’s is great. Although I feel a bit overpriced for what it is. This particular D’s is great about hot and fresh. The food is consistent. The service is fast and friendly. I don’t like the entry point…it’s a weird split and feels a bit claustrophobic and crowded at the entrance…. maybe I’ll just use drive through….

I had the tilapia fish and my grandson had the shrimp. Both meals were fresh and tasted great. The tilapia usually has more seasoning, it lacked salt but this is the first time this happened. Usually the meal are always very appetizing.

I go to this Captain’Ds at least once a month. Store 365040, order #0038 charged 13:43 4/29/23. Usually in and out in 15 minutes or less. Today was a bad day. 3-4 people walked out same for drive thru. Seems like the cook couldn’t get the orders straight and timely. Orders above #40 were being sent out while my order had yet to start. I’ll be back hopefully things will be normal.
