Visited the newly opened Boro Bourbon & Brews just off the square. Very cool location and interesting history…the space used to be the Murfreesboro Batery Service Station in 1934 (battery intentionally misspelled, see pictures). The garage doors all open, so in cooler weather it would make for an interesting venue for music and watching sports on the big screen televisions. This place is bright and inviting although with a crowd a quiet conversation might be difficult. Even better is this place is not a chain…families realizing their dreams and contributing to Murfreesboro.

Full disclosure – my band played here, so you could technically say I was compensated for this review. However, I was not asked to post this. I am just truly impressed with this place and their food! We showed up early to set up (and get in a quick bite) before we went on at 7 on Saturday night. I wanted to order something that would be quick & easy to eat without getting messy, and that would sit lighter on my tummy so I could rock out without worries for the next 3 hours.

There for opening night. Nice atmosphere, big crowd, very pleasant staff. Liked the glassed in garage door style walls. Excellent corner location off the square allows for great exterior viewing.

I am only giving a 1 star because I don’t have a choice. We sat down at 4:24 and walked out at 4:52 without service. Not 1 person spoke to us!!!! Everyone sitting at the bar had service tho, don’t worry about that. SMH. Won’t be back. #ShutDown

Went Friday Aug 25th around 6. Waited a few minutes for a waitress. Asked if there were beer specials & she said she’d have to go ask. She came back and said the 8 oz beers were $1 off. We ordered beer and she asked 8 or 12 oz. We ordered 12, received a 16 oz. We asked for a menu and she said she only had one on her phone but we could take a picture of it. We asked her to give us a few mInutes while we decide. We never saw her again. We saw her across the room but she never came back to our table. We watched other people come in and find a seat. Then eventually leave without any service. We finished our beer. Sat with 2 empty beer glasses for 15 minutes. Could never flag her down. We put money on the table to cover the beer and left. I understand a new business trying to work out the kinks but having bad service should not be one of them. I know they were busy but to completely ignore or forget a table is unacceptable. First impressions are important. And this first impression was terrible!
