Was told right away that they only had seafood and chicken. This is about 330 pm so I ordered the shrimp and fries and ask if the fries were seasoned witch I was told they were. Then I got limp soggy unseasoned fries. Then the shrimp definitely came from some kind of frozen Costco bag and with no cocktail sauce. I have been wanting to try this place for a while and walked away sad with my 14 dollars of barely edible food.

Oh my goodness! The catfish was amazing. We were passing through while on vacation and catfish is something we like to try everywhere we go. It did not disappoint and I’m so happy we stopped. We had an early dinner here and loved it so much we ordered some to take back to the hotel room for later. We also had the mac and cheese and potato salad as sides. They were also really good and did not disappoint. If you have a chance please try this place. Great people, great food, great town.

Food is so delicious. I got the catfish basket and it was full of flavor. Warm and inviting atmosphere and the customer service is amazing too. My boyfriend tried to get the ribs, but they were sold out. So we’ll be coming back. I highly recommend this spot.

Best catfish I had since leaving Adel Georgia. Wife had the shrimp. She loved it. Thin coating. Tasty. Hot and fresh. Plenty of food in a basket with fries. Wish we had found it earlier. Will definitely stop in again before we move. Folks are friendly and food is great. Thanks for reminding me of home.

While vacationing in Rockaway Beach..we wanted to get a bite to eat once we landed in Portland. We googled V’s Soul Food and saw the reviews ans decided to give it try!!! We ordered the Catfish basket…Hot Link sandwich & cabbage and the Yams!! Everything was sooooo delicious!!! We are from Texas and Mr V cooked everything fresh to order that reminded us of down home southern cooking.We even got a chance to sit and talk to Mr V. himself. We truly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend V’s Soul Food Shack
