The location is absolutely perfect. Really cozy outdoor seating with a fantastic view. The food was great and served by a very friendly waitress. Wanted whole lobster but they sold out the day before so we had grilled and fried scallops along with lobster roll. They were all very good, especially the scallops.

Fantastic views of Marblehead lighthouse and harbor. Great lobster salad and fries. The fried scallops were delicious too. Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff too. Parking was tough, I agree with the other reviewers.

So quaint! Exactly what I would expect to find on the East Coast. Scallops were mouth watering. View spectacular, waiting for a table we walked along the shore line. Excellent experience

I happened to mention at the end of our day that I could go for a good cup of chowder and a beer by the sea and my Wife found this place just a few blocks from where we already were!

Another quaint, little harbor spot with great seafood. The Lobster Bisque was the best of our trip and the Lobster Roll was up to expectation. Not much else going on here, including a very small bar and dining area. Service was fine, not much atmosphere here. They’re more known for their outside seating but it started raining, so that wasn’t an option.

Wait!Stop! Don’t blink or you’ll walk right past this Marblehead gem. I have visiting the Barnacle since I was a kid ( and I is old now ). I hadn’t been in about 30 years and when my dad passed I returned the the land of my nostalgia.

Lobster roll was outstanding. The lobster was so sweet and fresh. The fries were fantastic. Great outdoor seating area. The risotto and shrimp 8n white wine sauce was delicious. Great meal!

Unfortunately, short staffed on our first visit so menu was limited. However, this will not stop me from going again. The waitstaff was very kind. The food we ordered was good shrimp cocktail and clam chowder. The view outstanding and I can’t wait to go back and try full menu.

We sat for over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. We were at the restaurant at 7:00 for two for one lobster but by the time our order was taken they had run out. The crab cakes tasted fishy, the fries tasted like frozen fries from the grocers, the shrimp had no flavour, the coleslaw was dry, the soup was good but lukewarm. I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I never write reviews but I had to this time.

The Barnacle is a cozy authentic seafood restaurant with lots of character and their own lobster boat! We enjoyed their lobster roll, lobster Caesar salad, seafood chowder, stuffed claims, and fish and chips. Well worth a visit. Great harbor view.
