Had an outstanding plate of pulled pork, baked beans, corn bread. The meat had a wonderful, smoky flavor. All of the sauces were excellent, each with a unique flavor profile. Warm service, fair prices. Will be back again! A very unique and colorful place.

This place was slam packed so I understand how things can become unorganized.

Must try BBQ when you visit Ellijay! The food is yummy and the service is nice! Their green beans and collar green are so good. The meat is tender and smoked right! and there are many bbq sauce options. We try the ribs next time. Their appetizer comes with homemade pork skin. Highly recommended.

Hello yesterday my wife and I tried your restaurant for the first time since moving up here we’ve been here for about 5 years, I ordered the four meat special, which I didn’t know I was going to have to be paying for the sides the menu kind of confusing should have read it better that’s on me but I think y’all need a price correctly cuz a lot of people probably think they’re going to get four meats and four sides for the $23 now it’s time to go into good God that turkey was so dry I’ve never had turkey so dry in my life now we got there about 11:30 so it might have been from yesterday I don’t know I was disappointed, The Brunswick stew was basically all liquid couple pieces of corn maybe a tablespoon of barbecue The liquid had a good taste but there was this not enough to call it Brunswick stew, The brisket was full of fat I know brisket has fat in it but this was chalk full of it very disappointing, The Texas toast was pretty tough and not warm, the pastrami was absolutely delicious five stars on that pastrami Oh my gosh it was so good, And I was happy to see that y’all had ginger ale on the fountain machine My wife’s ribs were very dry She said adding some sauce they were a little bit better but not the best her potato salad made her stomach sick by the time we got home She said even with a little bit of pepper it was fairly bland coleslaw as well The mac and cheese was so so I added a dash of salt and some Louisiana hot sauce which brought it to life a little bit but overall we were disappointed very clean nice atmosphere but we’ve heard so much good stuff about this place It just didn’t add up. The turkey was fork tender just very dry,we got dunked on at Poole’s BBq

For me I think Col. Poole’s bbq represents the highest level of southern bbq and deserve a Michelin star! Highlighly recommend the sausage, brisket and ribs. Meats are packed of smoky flavor and cooked to the perfect balance point where it’s super tasty but not greasy. The sausage is surprisingly good, don’t know what magic happened with the skin, it’s almost crispy and we can’t stop eating it.

Do not be fooled by the review. I seen after we ordered the place has different ownership. Absolutely the worst bbq I’ve ever ate in my life. No ice for drinks. No lights in mens bathroom. And I paid 16$ for the plate in the picture. Omg this might be the worst restaurant I’ve ever visited. Gotta be the worst place in Ellijay or Blue ridge period!!

First off I have to say I tried to review our experience yesterday on my husband’s phone and it will no longer even show reviews it was a bad review but I respectful one what’s up with that? So I’ll make this very short and not as long as the other one nothing was good the turkey was dry almost choked on it the ribs are fairly dry a little bit better with sauce the brisket was completely full of fat horrible the mac and cheese horrible your average run of the mill not even salt or hot sauce could bring that stuff back to life leave potato salad hit my stomach instantly and had very bad stomach problems while returning home the Texas toast I mean at least warm it up before you bring it to the table pastrami was really good we’ll see if this just add it to your list or not but we will not come back we are so excited to try y’all we have passed this eyesore for the past 5 years and boy did we get dunked on at your restaurant and not to mention the menu and pricing is a bit confusing as well $23 four sides does not come out to $23 we did not know we were going to have to pay a dollar for this $2 for that $3 for the brisket just put the prices up right right

The real deal. Their house sauce is awesome. Nothing was too dry. I liked their sausage and brisket best. Down home place.

This is how BBQ should be! Staff was so friendly and treated you like family! The pork was really good. Tried the smoky and original sauces, and they had a great taste but the BBQ simply didn’t need any sauce! The mac and cheese was so creamy and delicious, but the beans are where it’s at!! Little pieces of meat mixed in with the beans…OMG…worth going back just for those! Do your taste buds a favor and stop by!
