Staying in the next town over I drove by and the outside of the building caught my attention. Figured it was a small town jewel. Arrived and there was 4 waitresses at the counter and one table occupied. Figured this should be a great experience. Got to table and asked about a drink, full bar is limited. Pepsi products so option 1 is out. Don’t have syrup or bitters so option 2 is out. Settled on beverage and ordered fried green tomatoes while deciding on entree. When drinks arrived ordered entrees. And waited. And waited. No interaction but lots of employees moving around. Finally flagged down a waitress at 35 mins and cancelled the appetizer. Don’t want to have it coming with the entree that defeats the purpose. 10 minute later food arrived. Nothing is hot. It is all warm. Rice with gravy had flavor but the rice was crunchy. Potatoes were decent but warm along with greens. Meatloaf was warm and flavorful but most was hard.

Great food – reasonable prices – wonderful breakfast selections – super friendly local folks – staff makes you feel at home. I’ll go back and try dinner soon. Decor on walls showcase many old fashioned traditional wisdoms.

We had errands to run in this small town and when we finished, we search for a place nearby and on the way home. Farmhouse 1906 immediately came up. I looked at rating and it was over 4 stars. I decided to give it a try. Parking was super easy, right on the street, but it looks like more parking off street. The food was amazing. Probably the best brisket I’ve ever had. Mashed potatoes were awesome and tasted authentic, like what we might make at home. Lima beans were terrific. I had applesauce, which tasted bottled, and that’s okay. Wife had a cobbler and she said it was really good. Both meals came to $23 with tax. My wife paid and left our waiter, who was most excellent, a $6 tip. There wasn’t a lot of people in there, which was a total surprise for dinnertime on a Saturday evening. Not sure what was up with that. To be honest, we were both completely shocked at how excellent this stop was…

The food was not the greatest but the waitress we had was definitely the only one who had some type of energy. The sweet potato Souffle could have used some more blending and sugar/ brown sugar . The macaroni had good consistency and after adding a little salt and pepper it definitely helped. The baked chicken was on the dry side maybe doing a smothered chicken will help with the moisture.

We walked into the restaurant and saw two young women at the counter. Neither one looked up to greet us. After I said hello one of them finally made eye contact. Instead of greeting us she sighed and said, “let me see where we can fit you in.” There were plenty of seats available. She grabbed four menus and walked to the nearest table and slapped the menus on the table. Not a word. No smile.

There was a line to get in so I thoughtt it might have been a good sign. However, it was not. The hostess finally asked how many in our party then picked up the menus and went to walking away without a word. She goes to a table and wipes it then puts down the menus without saying a word. Waitress was friendly ahs helpful with the menu. The breakfast food is subpar and tasted and looked pre-made vs good home cooking. When my biscuits and gravey arrived the food was barely warm. Also, no flavor. Setting the food aside the waitress was friendly and the decor was quaint. Overall, I might go back to try lunch or dinner, but I won’t go back for breakfast.

We called ahead and asked if they had outside dining–they said yes. Two tables without umbrellas outside and there were umbrellas on the ground just not on the tables. Waitress forgot about us.The salad was excellent. The sweet potato fries were hand made and cooked to perfection. We felt like we annoyed them by wanting to sit outside.

Wow the food here is amazing! I had the meatloaf with gravy and onions, collard greens, mashed potatoes with gravy and mac and cheese. All of the food was so flavorful and delicious! The portions were big and the price was unbeatable at only $9.95 in this economy. The servers were extremely nice and helpful as well. You definitely need to check this place out!
