I’ve only had this take-out, but the food has always been fresh and delicious, especially the rice. Take-out rice is often dry, but not at Dai Tung. It’s moist and fluffy. I don’t really like fried foods much either, so I end up ordering a shrimp meal in a sauce. I have have 3-4 different ones, and they have all been delicious. Update: Finally ate dine-in for lunch. It was delicious! Update….. dined in for dinner. Loved it!

I was invited to Dai Tung Chinese restaurant for lunch by a good friend. The restaurant is located on Nolana and 6th Street in the Nolana Tower plaza. It has been around for many years in the same location, where many businesses have come and gone. The interior is pretty much the same as it has been from the last time I went, some 15 years ago. The menu carries the same distinction of not having changed much over the years. The food lacks the modern wow factor that we are always looking for but it’s not bad either. I had chicken with mushrooms and my friend had beef and broccoli. I also ordered egg rolls to go with my meal. Honestly, not alot of intense flavor with all bordering on bland, especially the fried rice. The portions are large and well worth the price. I would go again just to try some of the options that caught my eye and order steamed rice instead.

Every single time I go to daitung it is always so good. The best place to get authentic Chinese food in the valley. My boyfriend and I frequently get dinner here. The plates are also very well served. Everytime we go, we always get the steamed dumplings it’s a must. The service is great too.

First time here. The wait staff was fast, friendly, and helpful. It was quiet and slow for the time they we went. I got chicken with vegetables in a hunan sauce. It was delicious and just a tiny bit spicy. They did charge $1 for the hunan sauce, so FYI on any changes. We also got general TSO chicken. That dish was awful for our taste. The sauce was too thick and sticky, and the chicken was extremely salty. We couldn’t eat it. The egg drop and wonton soup were good. However, the wonton was not what I expected. I’m used to cabbage and bamboo shoots in my wonton, and this was just the dumpling in broth. The meat in the dumpling was good.

My boyfriend took me here yesterday and it was a nice experience. The place looks small, just a few attachments can be made but overall, I was stuffed from the shrimp lo mein noodles I ate.

Ordered veg lomein to go. Very heavy so I thought great they gave me a lot. Opened it and the lomein was swimming in oil. I was starving so I just soaked up as much oil as I could. Paid $13 for just the noodles. Pretty pricey.

Ate here on Father’s Day. The place is usually very full. The meals are very large, but very salty. Service was good, however, the place is not very clean. Tables are small & chairs uncomfortable.

My brother’s friend brought him here to eat he was so pleased to eat here. He brought me here. Im convinced to go again but with a new person, to come eat. We had a attentive Waiter, the atmosphere is laid back. The General Tso Chicken, and pork egg rolls tasted very good.

Upon opening my order (Hunan Pork) I was greeted with a bowl composed mostly of vegetables with a few pieces of protein. In this case the pork was lacking along with flavor. The second dish was the General Tso chicken; it was equally bland, disappointing and unappetizing. Chicken piece were dark meat and mostly breading. Fried rice was cook to the correct texture, seasoned correctly but was missing the egg and sprouts. The fried dumplings were good with the correct balance of flavors. Unfortunately, it was overly priced for the amount of food in each dish. In my opinion, I would not have minded cost had the food been commensurate in flavor with price. Whatever the reason may have been, let’s hope it is not a reoccurring trend.
