The vibe was nice!!! I only tried the Palm Lounge appetizer and everything on it was good. I would give a 5 star, but I didn’t order from the burgers or dinner menu. I will come back. The service was a 10. Love that they have draft with 5 choices and plenty of bottled beer. Super chill and nice music.

My wife and I have been trying out some local spots downtown. We had heard some great things about this place, and we were not disappointed. We came on a Sunday evening and they had the game playing which was nice. A few tables of customers, but it seemed very relaxed. Our server was great, friendly, and in good spirits. He kept checking on us. We will definitely be coming back again.

Excellent restaurant. I had never been to the Palm Lounge. The Palm Lounge was a little bar with inexpensive beer mostly. This bar had been around in downtown Brownsville forever. I was apprehensive about visiting but was pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend. As you walk in the lightning in low. The restaurant uses dark colors and is quite old fashioned. For a moment The Palm Lounge makes you forget about everything going on outside. It transforms day into “your time.” The food is exceptional. I honestly highly recommend.

The place was so dark and dull…with a very depressing feel to it. My husband and I still wanted to give it a chance. We ordered a couple of beers. They were fairly cold. We ordered the ceviche, that was good. Then, we were delivered our entrees, a mushroom burger and the Hawaiian hotdog. The burger was the MOST horrible thing we have tasted. The meat tasted frozen and with no other taste to it then the freezer burn. The fries that accompanied the burger were tasteless. The hotdog was bland. This is one of the establishments that has the WORST food we have ever tasted.

Great food and price but the service was lacking! Now I’m not saying that our waitress sucked, she was just tooo busy and trying to service a whole bunch of tables at the same time. I think the place would be a lot better if they had more wait staff. But again the food was very good and at a price you can’t bet! We got a burger, hotdog, wings, and the nachos!

The Palm Lounge is a historic downtown restaurant and bar. They are known for their delicious burgers, my favorite is the jalapeno burger. I also very much enjoy their jalapeno poppers, which are stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon then served on a corn tortilla like a taco with grilled onions on the side, amazing. The micheladas are good too!
