I ordered the half chicken with greens and mac and cheese. My husband ordered the half fried chicken with greens and baked beans. The greens could use a lil more flavor, tasted better with the hot sauce. The baked beans didn’t have any flavor. The baked and fried chicken were good. The portion size was small for the sides also but I would go back.

Omg!! The chicken meat falls off the bones. Delicious ribs too!! I was craving some southern soul food! And now I’ve found my to go to place! Awesome and friendly staff!! Jus missing the cole slaw and the Mac n cheese cuz they ran out but overall I LOVED IT!!

I’ve eaten here a number of times. This time… they outdid themselves. I ordered the beef ribs (not available every day). They LITERALLY FELL OFF OF THE BONE. I mean I picked one up and gave a little tug…and incredibly tasty meat fell clean off onto my plate. Sadly, it fell right onto the perfectly fried okra, getting some sauce on some pieces… and it turns out that meat, okra, and sauce is a delectable combination.

I have always been amazed of great humbled people, and Mr. Dwight along with his wife and staff would fall into that category. The hospitality is genuine as if you were visiting family for a meal. The food is great, it’s not over seasoned, and reminds me of my trips as a child visiting my family in Texas. My favorite part of my meal was the cornbread, which almost brought me to years, because it reminded me of my grandparents that raised me, who were from Texas and Mississippi. They have past away, yet I know where to go to fill that void.

Pretty good. Ribs were a bit too fatty and tri tip was cut in small peices and a bit dry but it wasn’t too bad. I liked their sauces.

The food was pricey, but for what we paid, we expected more. The sides were mostly bland. We had the flips, mac and cheese, and potato salad (the latter was decent). The chicken and ribs were cooked to a fall-off-the-bone degree, and while I enjoyed them, I noticed they were kind of wet and soggy. The sauce, which was supposed to be spicy, was rather mild, and lacked somewhat in the flavor department. The oysters and shrimp were decent, according to my buddy, but his links were clearly boiled. What kind of barbecue joint boils sausage links?? You could tell the place was originally likely a Mexican restaurant, judging by the interior design.

If you like comfort or southern food you will enjoy this place. It offers tasty chicken, ribs, mac n cheese, cornbread, etc. The yams must be good because they were sold out! The staff is super friendly.

Everything was prepared very well. The ribs were a little small, but I know that varies. The Mac and cheese and the spicy BBQ sauce were 10/10. Chicken was great, but I was full by the time I got to it. I’ll definitely be back for the sauce and mac.
