To be clear, we LOVED this experience and definitely recommend. My reason for 4/5 is we were never shown a menu, and, at our table for 10, the descriptions of what was coming out to us on the plating was sometimes not easy to hear or very thorough. Also, all of the wine pairing was fun and the sommelier was amazing. She even was very helpful when we didn’t understand what was on our plates food wise. Having said that, I wish that they had used local wines. They were very proud of the fact that their food was all locally sourced, but unfortunately, every wine pairing was European. Just would’ve been a neater experience for our… (Probably most expensive ever)… Very expensive meal if the food and wine had been locally sourced. Lastly, our table for 10 had tastings from one bottle of wine or less each time so at $95 per person to add the wine pairing, this seemed exorbitant knowing the retail value on most of the wines. However, at the end of the day the food was excellent, the view is spectacular, and everybody we encountered was very friendly.

We had a great night with the tasting menu. The flavours of white asparagus & Black Cod were so on point. And the snacks left me wanting to snack all night. Looking out at the Pacific Ocean and some seals swanning around at dusk was magic. Well informed and cheerful wait staff made our experience complete. Would come back any day and fairly priced.

My husband and I went for an early Valentine’s day dinner and it was a wonderful culinary experience. We did not do the wine pairing, but enjoyed a nice glass of wine with the whole meal. Each course was so delicately prepared, so many different flavors with each course. My favorite course was the ribeye. My husband’s meat came out pretty rare for his liking, so they quickly made it to his specification. Each dish was so artistic on the plate and the everything went together so well. The dessert was also incredible, so light and airy, but beautiful and sweet! This was definitely a treat dinner and we thoroughly enjoy our evening. We only wish we could have enjoyed the view more before it got dark! Such an elegant atmosphere.

Been meaning to leave a review for a while – it was honestly the best meal of our lives! Unforgettable. Bill was $630 but honestly worth every penny. There were so many delicious courses, the flavors were all so divine, and the wine pairings were great too. Service was super friendly. And the dessert was the best thing I’ve ever eaten, honest to god. Pastry chef gets an 11/10 from me. They were also great about accommodating me since I don’t eat some seafood and meat (but do eat fish), they had some delicious substitutions. Plus the view was unreal. Can’t wait to dine here again in the future!

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary. The service was wonderful and the food was out of this world. Not only that, the view of the water is just beautiful. I cannot wait to eat here again. 10/10 recommend to anyone wanting the perfect date night or celebrating something special!

I dined at Coastal Kitchen last weekend with 3 friends and we all agree it was an amazing experience. Its a multi course tasting menu and the food was out of this world delicious. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and I can honestly say the best I’ve ever had. The view of Monterey Bay was an added bonus. The wine and cocktails were also really enjoyable. I can’t wait to go again!

Very disappointingfor a$145 tasting menu-only type of restaurantwhere once would expect everything to be at the highest level. The disappointments started upon arrival. We booked a window reservation in April for an August birthday dinner for 9, secured with my MasterCard. We got there to learn the reservation had been canceled; nobody knew why. Nobody had contacted us. Fortunately, they were able to pull a table together, but it was located in the back corner, with no direct window view, which is one of the primary reasons to dine here. There were multiple issues with the dishes: the edible cup that the cauliflowerwas in was soggy due to not being served quickly enough, the calamariwas cold, the duck was cold, and the 48-hour short rib was really chewy. Some of us had sparkling water, some flat, and the server constantly got it mixed up so everyone eventually got a mixture of both. On a positive note, the oyster withbeurre blanc was great and the cod was incrediblydelicate.
