Totally loved the food. If you guys plan for a trip to Big Bend National park you can check for cabins and stays near this restaurant. Near this restaurant you have multiple stay options. This is the only restaurant you can find in the park.

Decent value for the money, waiter disappeared at the end. It took me walking to the kitchen to get them. Tamales were a little dry but overall good. They tasted fresh and homemade.

I really don’t want to write a 1 star review for a small business that relies on tourists, but I got food poisoning for the first time of my life here on Monday night (ate around 4:30 pm). We didn’t eat out anywhere else that day fyi. I ordered the tamale plate and the chips and queso. My husband didn’t get sick, so the only difference between what he ordered (the mexican plate) and mine was the lettuce, tomato, and guac. I had to endure a terrible 7 hr drive back to San Antonio and a 16 hour day of flying back to Canada after being so sick. Not a fun way to end the trip. I even halfway joked about getting food poisoning as we were waiting for our food because there was a collection of dead flies in the windowsill and the ceiling fan had YEARS worth of dust and grime accumulated on it. Now I won’t joke about stuff like that.

Lovely place! The food was great and the vibes are Tex-Mex. This was the only place open at noon in Terlingua. It’s about 20 minutes from the Summit at the Bend

Decent texmex style food. Nothing fancy, but good food, served quickly. Friendly service. Had the burrito grande for breakfast once and chicken enchiladas another visit. Would visit again.

We had a hard time finding a place open for lunch and were happy to find the Chili Pepper Cafe! The servers were friendly and there were lots of bottled drink choices. I really enjoyed the green chili sauce on my Burrito. Very flavorful! The queso is unique and packed with flavor. Highly recommend stopping!

Not impressed with the food here. I would thought they are famous for its chili but the chili dish was the most disappointing one. The sauce is runny and the pork has no flavor. The chili is very blend not hot at all. The nacho is ok, just portion is big but nothing spectacular if you love to have the sour cream and yes it has a lot of that. The queso dip is very watery as well.

Always delicious. If we go into town while we’re at the cabin….we eat breakfast here. Good food, generous portions and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable too! My nephew loved it. We’ll be back!

A strong 3 star experience. The service was excellent. There was one server for the entire restaurant and she cashed everyone out too. Kudos to this girl who worked her butt off and was friendly and efficient. The food is just OK. Not chocked full of flavor but not horribly bland. The tamales were home made and pretty decent though just a tad dry. The salsa was good and so was the wine margarita. The red sauce was lacking and burrito just OK. If you come expecting “pretty OK” then you won’t be disappointed. Just do not come expecting to have found some fantastic Mexican gem in the desert.
