Food was average to be nice. Not planing on returning for the food, had a burnt taste to it. Service was very poor, not because it was busy. It appeared that most go for the drinks because there were plenty of people just drinking but we’re not drinkers. Nice place, lots of room just don’t recommend if you’re looking for good food that makes you want more

I came here with my family to have lunch and the service was amazing, our waitress was very patient with our large party and did her best to make sure everything was sorted out properly for all of us. The food was amazing and the portions were quite unexpected for some of our family members (a nice surprise considering they normally end up ordering more food later, this wasn’t needed!!) And the atmosphere was quite pleasant. Definitely going to be coming back if possible!!!

I was in Waterloo visiting a friend from High School from California and I was and am STILL completely in awe over how AMAZING the food was! Hands down best Mexican food I’ve had in YEARS, and that’s saying a lot. I left the restaurant singing their praises and in the best of moods. Exactly what you want to feel leaving a place like this. The atmosphere, art work and staff left nothing to be desired.

The service here is always fantastic. The food is delicious, always served hot and fresh. The refried beans are probably the best in the state! I think my only negative experience is the parking lot, it’s rather small. This is one of our favorite restaurants to visit when we’re in Waterloo. Thank you, Amigos!

Wow! Love the decor! Clean and well lit. Very friendly staff! Excellent margaritas! Was surprised at the huge portions and greatly affordable prices. This is high quality homemade Mexican food. Everything from the tamales, chimichangas, beans, rice, and more was cooked perfectly. And did I mention the huge portions! As a long time chef and food industry person I was very impressed with every aspect of Amigos and highly recommended it. I will definitely be back!
