At our Memphis, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I’m done with most fast food places. They all have lousy quality food served by people who don’t want to be there for too much money. CAPTAIN D’s, however, is an exception to me in that the quality is virtually always the same and is different in that at least it’s seafood and not a variation on the theme of beef (and I like beef, good beef).

Great customer service, however the amount of food given was equivalent to a child’s plate. I ordered a 2 piece dinner… $13! What a rip off. 2 pieces of fish was clearly 1 piece cut in half and I had a hand full of okra and a handful of fries.

We waited over 50 minutes in the drive thru for a online pickup. By the time we got our food it was not that good. My shells tasted old and so did my fish. The chicken strips are small. Forgot some condiments that we ordered.

I ordered a 4 piece Country-Style Fish with 2 sides (fried okra, and green beans) at 9:15PM is when I stopped at CaptainD’s. The service was very slow and I stayed in the line almost an hour. This is what my fish looked like when I opened it up. This is the first time this has happened with this particular Captain D’s restaurant. They’re normally good, but on this day they wasn’t so good. This was June 14th 2022 at 9:15PM. I left the restaurant after 10pm because the drive thru line was very long.

Rude person on speaker. I start out the order request stating I have a coupon and read the information as 2 piece fish free with purchase of a 2 piece and large drink. The woman kept cutting me off talking about a 3 piece. I then spelled F R E E. Twice I had to spell. I wasn’t confused about my statement and the speaker was working just fine. Finally she gets it and in a nasty tone says, “Have your coupon ready!”. I get to the window and show coupon on phone. She rudely exclaims, “She gotta coupon on the phone.” Meanwhile, another woman comes to the window to get the phone. She almost dropped my phone! She dropped the site from where I had the coupon so I had to look it up once more. After getting my phone for the transaction and giving it back to me, another woman, maybe manager asks for the phone. I said she’d just gotten the coupon from the phone. She told me it was needed again. The younger woman then said she had it. The older woman was saying I had an attitude to the other 2 women. Highly unprofessional for a possible manager. I was met with rude attitude from the time I placed a simple order. Seems I was served the smallest pieces of fish. If you’re a regular Captain D’s patron, you know these are not the average size pieces of fish. If this continues, I’ll be visiting Captain D’s far less. The tea was watered down and full of extra ice. Terrible Service on this visit and very small pieces of fish. I can’t say I recommend Captain D’s location on Hacks Cross, Memphis, Tennessee.

Tell me why when I’m the only one in line they still give me the wrong order. I never ordered a kids meal but got one in addition to all that I ordered except what I came for which was a basic fish piece.

Food was quick fresh and good. Staff was prompt and nice. Restaurant was clean except for broken sauce machines. I almost gave it four stars because of the dark Peking lot. The hacks cross side needs much more light. But staff and food deserves five star or more.

My visiting yesterday was not satisfactory.The food was not great. Order was messed up (missing item) and the food was burnt and the chicken tenders were the size of chicken nuggets.
