Wonderful food. Toss a dart at the menu – you can’t go wrong ! Corn tortillas are better than most every other place I’ve tried. Larger too. Can get busy, and there can be a wait – but it’s worth it !

Authentic!! fresh handmade corn tortillas? Get out of here they’re the best we’ve ever had in the United States and possibly even Cancun lol. Everything was to die for. Get the chilaquiles if you’re a fan – we had them verde and it was to die for. My husbands barbacoa burrito with queso was so good! We ate it all and forgot to take pics of anything but the sopapilla. Great smiling friendly service too.

My husband got Chilaquiles con huevos y guisado res rojo. I ordered Huevos con chorizo. It was delicious. Definitely will come back as we drive thru. My husband drives Semi Truck and we get thru here alot.

Definitely kept the dishes n spices original from before covid. Always stopped here before when running across i-40 thru amarillo. Haven’t been thru here in a while, n glad I stopped they still serve the original nixtamal corn tortillas n didn’t loose their flavorful Mexican dishes. Definitely worth the stop. Small place but big in flavor n savory dishes. Small big rig parking in the dirt lot across street. Definitely recommend this place.

I’d like to start by complimenting the waitresses. They were very polite and very attentive. The place was very neat and clean and the fresh flowers on each table is a very nice touch. We started with drinks and we got agua fresca de piña. The equivalent of fresh squeezed orange juice but pineapple. It was refreshing. The food was amazing, I had been here before and both times the food has tasted so delicious. The chips were warm and the salsa was perfect. Tacos de Birria, and Fajitas de Trio are really good. The tortillas taste and have the texture as if they’re homemade. I definitely recommend you dine at El Tejavan!

Passing through Amarillo and decided to stop bc they had a lot across the street for trucks. It did not disappoint! The food was amazing with tons of flavor, fresh made tortillas and salsa that will knock your socks off. The food was fresh and delicious! I even had enough for left overs.

We had another wonderful breakfast at El Tejavan I-40 East this morning. Our experience with their menu is consistency with great flavors, preparation of the dish, and spice. Food is always served hot in temperature for plates requiring a warmer temperature. The experience with service today and every time we have dined at this establishment is excellent. Today our assistant’s service was far more than excellent. Wonderful brunch/lunch on a great Sunday.

Some of the best real Mexican food I’ve had! Texas is usually known for their nasty Tex-mex but this place is real Mexican food!! Their chili verde was on point and homemade tortillas to top it off… dang… the waitress I had was awesome as well… I’ll definitely be making this a must stop when I pass through!!
