El Tipico is my go to Mexican restaurant because of the diverse menu. All items are organic and can be made with traditional ingredients or gluten free and vegan with excellent flavor and texture. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Guests are treated like family. I have not had anything I’ve not thoroughly enjoyed. Support this amazing local business!

El Tipico is the hands down the best (and healthiest) Mexican restaurant in the Toledo area, and it’s not close. Everything is fresh, tastes amazing and is good for you. They have puff tacos, which is something I wasn’t familiar with, but am now absolutely obsessed with. The owner is also one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Can’t go wrong with El Tipico. Been going for years and won’t be stopping any time soon.

Awesome family owned restaurant! Food was fantastic Melissa was the best- kept our soda filled, brought us a pitcher of water. She’s a pro at making sure everything was good. My husband would come here when he lived in the Toledo area. Still great as it was years ago when parents owned it! They would be so proud! Nice placc, good parking, staff very friendly! Our adult kids loved it. We will be back when in town again.

Stopped in and bought 3-#1 Dinner Specials Today. Restaurant was spotless on the outside and the inside. The food was Fresh, Authentic and good size portions. The service was first rate as well. If you’re in the mood for authentic Mexican food, this is a hidden GEM in the old South End. Private secure off street parking at the rear parking lot with secure lprivate entrance. All 5 STARS

Absolutely fantastic in every single aspect!!! The service and food here is phenomenal! You won’t regret it. The entire menu can be made vegan and gluten free which is a huge feat and the owner is a beautiful and very special human being. She cooks the cuisine herself and everything is made with genuine love. Wonderful, wonderful experiences here. I will seriously be driving back from NY on some upcoming weekends with this restaurant being the main focus of the trip. Perfect. And on a side note, the coffee and ice tea is just as perfect as the rest of the food! ❤️

I moved to Toledo from Texas last year and I am astounded at the quantity of really amazing Mexican food in this city. Not just “good for the Midwest.” I was born and raised in Texas. I lived there for almost 4p years. I know real legit Mexican food abd El Tipico is it! Every time we have guests frim out of town, we take them here. The pork tamales and the mole are literally the best I’ve ever had in my life. The carnitas and the carne asada are so moist and flavorful. And the owner always stops by our table to give us the warmest welcome. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Stopped here on a whim after the zoo. I was a bit thrown off after realizing that the restaurant was organic and gluten-free as that is not my typical go-too. The food and the service ended up being wonderful! The salsa and the beef tips especially. Will definitely be open to going back when I am in the area again.

Fabulous experience! Great options for those with food allergies or celiac disease. Service was friendly and helpful and attentive. The horchata was sweet and refreshing, and the GF tacos were crispy and crunchy and fresh, with a lovely thin tortilla that was perfect. Salt level was a little high for me, so i would request less salt next visit. But I will definitely be back!
