What an awesome sandwich! If you go here, make sure to try the pastrami on rye bread: simply delicious =) Although a bit expensive (~$27), the sandwich is huge, comes with 2 side pickles, and can easily feed two people.

Although packed with tourist and we had to make a very long line to get in, this place really delivers. We asked the butcher if he recommended any of the other meats besides pastrami and he basically said: pastrami is the best meat. He gave us some samples of the corned beef and tongue but he was right. We went for the pastrami sandwiches and a frankfurter and I have to say that the pastrami sandwich is by far the best I’ve ever had. I even brought one to Mexico with me. The meat was really juicy, perfectly seasoned and very generous portion in the rye bread. Just some mustard and you are all set!

This is a true New York institution and much less of a tourist trap than one might expect!

Went during lunch hour, very very busy even during weekday. Ordering was quite slow as the they urge you to try the sample of each order. But the table is not that hard to find.

A must visit place to eat pastrami. The whole atmosphere was amazing, every detail had something to tell you. Now I know why everyone is talking about Katz’s Deli! 13 days in New York and we visited 2 times Marketing is an another level! Good jobs guys. Greetings from Greece

Delicious pastrami sandwich, huge portion can feed two! Remember to ask for juicy pastrami and lots of mustard! Place is always very busy so make sure you know what you want to get before you arrive. Remember Do Not lose the ticket as there is a fine if you lose it!

Don’t need to reinvent the wheel with this one, you know it’s good and a MUST do experience in NYC. The Pastrami Sandwich is a spectacle of presentation and both taste. Big lines, big crowds and big sandwiches. We shared a sandwich between two, I feel one to yourself would tip you over a touch Enjoy! The cutter we had was extremely slow and kept leaving at intervals, leaving empty handed and returning the same. This was the only downside, but you can’t expect anything else from such a machine of an eatery.

Alright, this is a hot take. And I’m not trying to do this just to be contrarian. But I really can’t seem to justify the price for what you get here. Yes, their sandwiches are HUGE with heaping portions of pastrami. But there really isn’t much craft to the sandwich—it’s all just meat. And lots of pickles on the side. After just a couple of bites, I got tired of the sandwich, gets real heavy real fast. And you pay almost $30. I really do love the environment and the hustle and bustle energy of the place though. Maybe if anything, that’s what you’re paying for.

Overrated and gimmicky. The food– okay. Very expensive for what you get. We ordered a pastrami sandwich, 1/2 turkey sandwich combo with a cup of matzo ball soup, and a salami sandwich with 2 cokes. The pastrami and soup were good. But $20+ for a sliced salami sandwich (plain, just meat on bread) and $20+ for 1/2 a plain turkey sandwich and a cup of soup? Yes, they pile the meat on. But, $84 on lunch for 2 adults and a kid…. You can get much nicer meals for the same price at a million other places in the city.
