Actually a 3.5. We went here to celebrate my birthday dinner. I honestly have to say, we prefer Segovia in Little Ferry much better. The food here is missing something. The shrimp bisque was bland. The crab cake appetizer had so much breading. I had lobster and shrimp in garlic sauce over linguine. It was so hard to eat because the lobster was still in the shells with the sauce all over it. This meant cracking the shells and getting your entire hands soaked in sauce. It was not particularly lady-like. My boyfriend had scallop & shrimp stuffed sole. You couldn’t find a scallop, minuscule shrimp, and it again was a ton of breading. The two pros of this dinner were the waiter Matthew who also was the bartender. He gave tremendous service and made one hell of a sangria. We skipped the dessert for my birthday.

The atmosphere and service is great. The food, in comparison to more authentic Spanish and Portuguese, could use more of an upgrade. Considering the area and clientel, it is understandable that the menu is more americanized. One thing that should stand out is the steaks, however. Below are some pictures.

Food is delicious. The place is very nice, great atmosphere. We sat at a table in the bar area, service was a bit slow but we didn’t care since we were just enjoying each other’s company. They do not rush you out, which is nice. Great place, highly recommend!

Almost walked out while I was going in. Why, because the young man at the greeting area was making fun of the couple that was leaving. My wife made me stay so we were seated. The same young man was now arguing with the waitress. Of course, I got that waitress and she tried to have a smile, but it was not working. The food was good but I just was not able to enjoy the place.

My boss and I went here for lunch. When we arrived we parked in the private lot. We walked in and was sat by one of the servers. Steve was our server. I started with the uptown but it wasn’t sweet so I stuck with water. For my meal I got the stuffed salmon lunch special. My boss got a chicken dish. The food took a while to come out. When it finally did both meals looked great. I dug in and added a little salt and pepper to my salmon. It was more tasty when I did. There was plenty for me to eat and take home. My boss enjoyed his chicken dish. The bill was very reasonable. All in all I had a good experience.

We took a dear couple for dinner. Matt was our waiter. He brought me a very good glass of Cabernet. My Filet Mignon was amazing. Our guests enjoyed their food as well. The restaurant was noisy but we had a good time. Will return next time that we go to Oakland.

Segovia Tavern is excellent. Sunday evening is a great quiet time to go. Prime times are obviously busy and noisy which is fine for a larger group. Food never disappoints. Prices are higher like everywhere only difference is this food is worth it. Service is always great.

Wife and I went to Segovia for our anniversary 7/29. I cannot say enough how impressed we both were with the food. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Couldn’t ask for more potion wise. Come hungry. We will definitely be going back.
