This Texan approves of this Kansas City style BBQ! I got the jalapeño cheddar sausage, brisket sandwich and baby back ribs. Mild sauce was nice. I’m taking the leftovers home and making a large baked potato

Stan’s recently changed owners as the previous folks retired. But I can attest that it’s as tasty as ever! The beef brisket is heavenly. The sauces complement any protein you get. They’re still a KC Chiefs place which gives it character in Seahawks territory. Prices have gone up, but it’s in line with everywhere else.

I like this place a lot. The servers are super nice and quick. The drink menu is good and the drinks are strong and reasonably priced. It’s kid friendly. The atmosphere is good. If you’re a BBQ enthusiast and have had top tier BBQ, it doesn’t quite stack up. I like BBQ enough that I still eat here, and it’s dependably decent, but I wish the food were better. I’m not sure, but sometimes it tastes reheated. The wings would be better if they got the skin crispier. I love BBQ, and I’ll gladly eat second tier BBQ, especially in such a nice, friendly place

Recently used Stan’s for a mid sized party. The catering packages were very affordable and food was high quality. We had two vegetarians who were blown away by the potato salad. Communicating with the staff was so easy and pleasant. Would definitely recommend for any catering needs or parties you may be hosting!

Excellent BBQ! The best pulled pork I’ve had. The ribs were cooked well and the meat fell off the bone. Do yourself a favor and get the creamed corn as your side.

Disappointing. We walked in on a whim from a delicious smell as we passed by outside. I have no idea what we smelled that was so good. We ordered burnt ends and smoked meatballs. Of course they were really barbecued, but on flavor alone, I honestly couldn’t tell if they had any contact with barbecue smoke. No smoky flavor at all. Very heavy on the sweet barbecue sauce. Sides were small and bland. Service wasn’t particularly good either. I really like to try and see the best in the places I visit, but the only appeal that I could find here is maybe it’s a nice bar to watch sports with some friends. They also charge extra for credit card usage. They call this out, so it’s not a surprise, but wanted to give a heads up in the review.

First time here and it was an early Monday lunch after a hike. Nice place. I had seen it before but had never been in. My friend, who I was with recommended it and so we stopped. Not a huge BBQ fan, but definitely enjoy it. Well worth the stop. Brisket was pretty damn good.

I really enjoyed the feint sight and smell of wonderful real wood hickory hanging in the air as we walked in. The atmosphere is down to earth, staff were very friendly in a “you’re family” warm kind of way, and I was impressed by the bar collection but was unable to try a drink due to working/lunch break. As for the food, everything was fantastic, one of the more proper BBQ Washington has to offer, great smoke flavor, texture, juiciness, even salt level was on point, also worth noting that they have some of the best baked beans I’ve ever had. loadedwith pork and spices, they’re next level. The only reason I give 4 stars is because they are very pricey for the quantity. Is stans awesome? Yes. 100%. are they $31 per lunch awesome? No…. I’d happily pay $18-20 in this area for the quality and quantity once in a while but not on the regular. Otherwise I have only good things to say about the place.

We had brisket, pork ribs, and pulled pork. The brisket was over-cooked so all the fat was rendered out making it dry and tough. The fact that the brisket was cut with the grain rather than across the grain made it even tougher. The pulled pork was soaked in grease and had no smoke flavor. The ribs were mushy like they had been cooked in plastic wrap the entire cooking time. I won’t be back. Too bad the new owners, who were the managers before Stan sold it to them, have let the standards go to hell. This place wouldn’t stay open a week in Kansas City.
