Very good southern food. This old time restaurant served a very yasty fried flounder. The perch was delicious too. Who knew chicken livers could be this tasty! The onion rings were delicious. Service was good. They serve drinks in styrofoam cups which is weird but we can deal with that. Also, your straw is in the napkin. The prices are fair. A good place to enjoy a meal. It would be great if they served breakfast.

Had a great dining experience recently at this awesome local business. This place has great food and stellar service. Plenty of seating is available and the restaurant’s layout is very spacious. The tables have plenty of room between them, so you don’t feel stacked on top of other tables. It’s conveniently located in downtown Tryon and there is ample public/free parking available. I would highly recommend this local business!

Nice stop on a long drive. We like to avoid chains when possible & support local businesses. BBQ & chicken salad sandwiches were good. Sweet tea is too sweet for me, waitress offered to mix it with unsweetened which was perfect. Tea was free if you paid cash & ordered from the specials menu, nice touch. Has a nice nostalgic feel other than a lot of gun & political messaging posted around the place.

This place has gone down hill so badly that it’s in a deep dark valley. Our food was gross, service was terrible. We WILL NEVER come back.

If I could give this place zero stars I would!!! I had never been to Calverts before. I went in the other night and was standing at the door for 10 mins because the people in the kitchen was playing around and I had no idea that I could just sit wherever! When me and my husband was finally greeted at the door the waitress so so rude the way she was talking. We ordered our food and as the waitress was taking our order we felt very rushed as if she wanted to go goof off in the kitchen again because we could hear the laughing and screaming out on the floor!! After waiting for 30mins for our food, my country fried steak had gravy on it and when I told the waitress I didn’t order gravy she bit my head off saying it came with it. I politely asked her if she could fix it and she just yanked the plate out of my hand. By the time it came back it was so burnt as if they just took it back there and wiped the gravy off and stuck in back in the fry. It was so hard I couldn’t eat it. When we went to go pay I told the young lady at the register and she informed me that it wasn’t her fault so she couldn’t do anything about it. These girls really need another lesson on how to handle the public. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK
