So far, our best dinning experience in Banner Elk. Bison meatloaf was tender and flavorful. Roasted red pepper soup was a wonderful start. But do NOT pass on the bread pudding dessert.

Walked in here on a whim with my beloved wife of 13 years, sans our two little ragamuffins, and had probably the best dining experience in recent memory. Every item we ordered from our cocktails to the peanut butter and chocolate sandwich dessert was just about perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough.

This restaurant is a gem! Terrific food, cocktails, local beers and ambiance. I’m from DC and this restaurant is on par with the greats there. We had the lobster poutine, Caesar salad, and bison burger. All amazing. We will be back!

On a whim we stopped in at opening time. Realized we better get in line because this place filled up quick. Could only sit at the bar due to not having reservations. Katie quickly made us feel welcome with a signature cocktail. Started out with fried oysters, both had a caesar salad. I had the bison meatloaf and wife had the hanger steak. Finished up with a hot caramel cake dessert. Everything was on point. Beautiful plating, flavor profiles and service. We will be back!

Celebrated a lovely birthday dinner here! We arrived without a reservation and were hoping to find a seat at the bar. The hostess provided us with menus and took our drink orders while we waited. We ended up being seated at a table within 10 minutes of our arrival. All staff and servers were friendly, professional, and on top of everything!

The ambiance and space is very nice. Enjoyed sitting near the fireplace. Staff was friendly. Meal took quite a bit of time to arrive. The Ceaser salad is delicious! The barbecue shrimp with grits is very spicy so that you just experience heat without much flavor. We also had the smoked Mac and cheese which was delicious. Another issue for me was serving size. The salad was a good size, very small amount of Mac n cheese, and the shrimp and grits was out of proportion – good number of shrimp, not enough grits and swimming in barbecue sauce.

Strange experience. Couldn’t get the salmon cooked well done instead of medium. Couldn’t get salad dressing on the side. Never been to a restaurant so unwilling to let a guest request the temperature of the meat the are paying to be cooked. Or couldn’t be bothered to allow dressing to be on the side? Made me wonder if they even cook the food there or if this is a catering front.

Food is very good. Wine selection is excellent. But food is not good enough to disallow modifications (I say this seeing owner’s comments on other reviews- maybe there’s a more optimal operating strategy?). Server was very nice but maybe undertrained as she grabbed my wife’s plate before finished? Kitchen a bit slow.

An incredible eat your heart out experience. We had some of the tastiest and fantastic scallops, hearty flavorful bison meatloaf and a yummy crispy on the outside melt in your mouth on the inside crab cake. The hibiscus flower garnish was very tasty in my cocktail, my husband has a classic old fashioned and our waitress was very cordial and knowledgeable about the wine selection. Will be returning for the scallops.
