Dined in as an out of towner and ordered the chicken fried steak. It was crispy and delicious. The mashed potatoes and dinner roll paired wonderfully with the steak. The dining area was modern and clean. Private restrooms were also clean. The vibe in the restaurant was wholesome.

The chicken club was great. Tasted good and had a good flavor. Also the sweet potato puffs were an extra and well worth it. The key lime guacamole dipp was awesome. It was not spicy at all but had a great taste and was also.mad e fresh. Went there during lunch hour and service was good and prompt. Must try if have never been.

The Breakfast Sammie was very Good. Eggs were perfectly cooked. The Avocado Toast was Very Disappointing. I expected sliced avocados on toast but it was a smear of not so fresh guacamole. My poached eggs were more like a boiled, hash browns looked like a frozen waffle patty that had been fried. Coffee was ok. Service was mediocre. Staff seemed more interested in having fun with each other and very loud. I don’t mind paying for good fresh food but this was mediocre.

Gave this place another shot. Pretty good grub this time. Started off with the Key Lime Guac and chis and woooweee it was delicious!!! I had the club sandwich with sweet potato puffs. Everything was fresh. Although they could have been eaten by themselves, I dipped the puffs in ranch to give it that little extra and it did! We did have to wait a little bit for someone to initially come to our table. That was to be expected though due to it being super busy this day. Our waitress was very nice and thorough. Very good at her job.

After moving back to Victoria I was looking forward to eating at Huvar’s again! The staff seemed overwhelmed. I had to ask for a server to come to my table. The food took forever to come. When it did, the ‘kettle’ chips that were supposed to come with my sandwich were obviously Lay’s potato chips. The cheese in my ham and Swiss sandwich was processed American cheese. They also did not have bread pudding which was still on the menu and what I was most looking forward to eating. The waitress said the chef simply didn’t have time to make it. Super disappointed Huvar’s! Not sure what’s happened here but definitely not the restaurant I remember!
