Coming from South Florida where soul food is a commodity, I was super excited about trying this place after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. The oxtails and cabbage were excellent; however, the greens had too much vinegar in them, the mac and cheese tasted very acidic as well, and the summer squash was unexpectedly fragrant (no sure why). The sour cream pound cake was good but quite dense. Might try someplace downtown when I’m in town next time.

OMG it’s so good! The ladies were so helpful, and even gave us a sample when we couldn’t make up our minds. It’s Southern cooking, meat and 2 veggies or meat and 3 veggies. All homemade and so so so good! The food is laid out buffet style for you to choose from, so you can pick exactly what you want. Everything looked awesome, which made it hard to decide. The ladies were so friendly and helpful. We will be back again.

Food here is amazing! Good ole’ comfort food. The ladies in the back are almost as sweet as the iced tea. Breakfast on Saturday mornings is family favorite, and their homemade cakes are wonderful. Makes me want to get some biscuits and gravy right now!!!

My wife enjoyed the chicken but she gave me a hard time as I ordered the Ox tail. “You never had it so try something else you like” said my wife, but I wanted to be different so I ordered it and I am going back when I am in town it was SO goods. I might try another dish to see if I get a reaction from the misses but she’s great, that’s why I married her.

Bought my husband’s dinner for work because it was the closest semblance of soul food vs fast food options. The food on the steam table wasn’t very eye appealing. I actually selected from what I thought didn’t look too bad and dried up on top (as if it were old). I bought the salisbury steak (large = 2 pieces of meat), mash potatoes and green baby lima beans; came with a corn muffin. It was about $11 including tax.
