This was a really unfortunate event considering we’ve waited years to finally eat from this spot. We ordered our food, with a short wait happily, once received everything looked and smelled delicious. We ordered two wing platters with baked mac, cabbage and yams. Unfortunately, our baked mac had some extra ingredients. After serving a plate to my kids, I discovered a nasty fly in the baked mac. It was a big turn off for me. The staff was apologetic and refunded our money but I could not give it another shot! From the bit I tasted, it was definitely delicious. Maybe some time from now we’ll try again, but for now it’s a no for me!

Epic Soul Food! Brisket was seasoned excellent, mac and cheese was top notch & the cabbage is a bit spicy but I adored it. Potatoe salad was fresh and seasoned perfectly. The restaurant is casual and has a younger crowd. Host was so nice and he was very inviting. Service was excellent but the time to get food was slow BUT worth the wait. So just plan to be there about and hour.

This was my first time here and I was extremely satisfied! The service was great, Ebonaye was friendly, on point, and observant. I ordered Kelsey’s Favorite with eggs over-meduim and double turkey bacon, all which was amazing. Everything was cooked perfectly. I will definitely stop by here every time I’m in AC.

I really wanted to give them 5 stars because the cafe itself is worth it! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect! However, our waitress was trash! She took very long to bring out our drinks and drinks! She literally forgot about us at some point. There were two other waitresses, I caught one’s name (Shaneice) she seemed wonderful she had the table next to us and her service was excellent. If we come back I will be asking for her! I’m very proud of this black owned business I just ask that they get our waitress some training!

First time here and it was amazing!! My husband and I enjoyed the food! Wait time was long about 40 min to bring out our meals which was morning fish fry. I got the fried catfish and husband got the fried whiting. It was worth the wait!! Everything came out nice and hot, the cat fish was fried to perfection. It was crispy on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside. Will definitely come back again.

First I’m going to start with the bad which is nothing. Yea service can be slow and seems disorganized but the waitress are amazing and they will try to make your experience a 5 plus start one. The food is phenomenal specially the grids OMG so tasty and flavorful it’s like a party on your mouth. The steak and eggs is amazing as well as the corn beef. If you come to this place make sure to try the corn bred is amazing

My fiancé and I came out here for the first time, and we were looking for some local restaurants, she suggested soul food when she came across it and I decided to go with it. I see some reviews about people unhappy with the wait time, but the food is made to order, and I was perfectly fine with that. The food is absolutely delicious, I highly and happily recommend.

My sister was bragging about this place so much I had to try it. They did not disappoint. The food was delicious. Reminded me of southern cooking from the south.

Came here years ago and couldn’t wait to get back. The food is incredible. So tasty. Collard greens were out of this world. Mac and cheese too. Slightly disappointed the only fried chicken options were wings or tenders, but the tenders were delicious. My favorite spot in Atlantic City, by far. Get there early to avoid long wait times, either way it’s worth the wait! If I didn’t live 4 hours away I’d be here everyday.
