John was out waiter and he was absolutely amazing.. so sweet and kind. Even the host was very welcoming.. and that means a lot being that I’m in an interracial relationship. We normally get looked at very weird.. but not here.. the suggested their best drinks, wine and food. Very attentive to the kids and clearing the table..

This was our first experience at Saybrook Fish House and it exceeded our expectations! They started off by bringing us hot steaming rolls with delicious butter. We started off with mozzarella sticks and mussels! The mozzarella sticks were like anything I’ve ever tasted before. The cheese was oozing out of them and melted like butter in my mouth not to mention how huge they were and paired with the marinara WOW! The mussels were out of this world and I absolutely love mussels. They were perfectly cooked and the white wine butter garlic sauce was so savory especially with extra rolls to lather the sauce up with! My husband ordered the special which was a baked or broiled cod with capers over mashed potatoes and spinach. The cod was so tender and perfectly cooked it flaked apart. Not to mention the mashed potatoes tasted homemade. I had the shrimp scampi over linguine in a brown butter garlic sauce and my tastebuds were doing backflips in my mouth! Every penny we spent was well worth it! The staff was also very friendly and nice we will definitely be back again!

Friendly staff, great food. The fish for my fish and chips dish was breaded and cooked perfectly, and the salad was crisp and fresh. Although, the cole slaw could use some more mayonnaise, it didn’t seem moist/creamy enough.

Way beyond my expectations. The seafood, sides, and salad were excellent. The service was perfect. Prices very reasonable for substantial portions. All the wines by the glass were fairly priced. Wonderful experience all around. Keep up the good work!

Whenever I’m in the mood for seafood I stop here for a meal. They never disappoint. I love their house dressing, I sometimes will order some to take home. In the warmer months you can sit out on the patio, that is always nice.

My niece and I dined here twice this week, marvelous! The salad dressings are fantastic! I had the grilled salmon and it was cooked to perfection! Their lobster bisque is exactly as it should be, smooth, silky, redolent with sherry and exactly the right temperature for a bisque. I’ll definitely be back. Wait staff was wonderful too!!! Prices were reasonable considering the quality of the meal.

I’m sorry to post this as I don’t really normally have seafood, but honestly I don’t think the food was good at all. I ordered fish and chips and it tasted like over buttered bread with eggs stuffed in the middle. I don’t think fish of any kind is supposed to taste like eggs. I had to ask my girlfriend to take a bite and see if it was just me. The waitress was extremely nice so points on your wait staff, but I don’t know what the cooks are doing serving that horrible fish.

Wonderful place to have a nice dinner Finally can wear your nice clothing to this place that specializes with seafood and some steak and chicken. Alcoholic drinks are top shelf and will accommodate you with your drink of choice. House wine is great. Salad beautiful and tasty salmon is out of this world flavorful. Wait staff positions themself so they can see you but not awkwardly staring at you. But when you need something they are right there. Love that you don’t wait for anything. Took our time. ( say 2&1/2 hours) at the resturant because we wanted to. Not because of slow service and no one minded. They didn’t rush us out to clear the table Never felt rushed. Or that we were taking too long. What a great evening Definately recommend this place. They have seating for large parties and small parties. I would recommend making a reservation for large parties through They accommodate you nicely.
