Restaurant Anise was born from a desire to roll back the clock to when dinner was a sacred time shared with friends and family, a time for a pause on daily stress and distractions, to connect with others, and to nourish the body and soul at the end of the day.
We offer Modern American Cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, just 2 miles off the Historic Granbury Square. Our menu changes frequently and presents unique, mindfully prepared dishes, using seasonal ingredients and representative of cuisines from around the globe.

Anise is a delightful experience – the food is outstanding. High quality ingredients cooked with lots of love. The menu is small but exquisite. We started with the bone marrow (outstanding) and salad. For our entrees I had the bison flank steak with prawn, my date had the Cornish game hen. And topped it off with a chocolate pot du crème. As the menu changes every quarter, it might be different by the time you read this, but what we experienced was top chef top quality food! Very quaint atmosphere with less than 10 tables so the dining experience is quite intimate. Beer and wine only (just fyi). You will love this place!!!

My wife selected Restaurant Anise to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. She has some food sensitivities, so she called the restaurant a few days in advance and the chef was able to modify some of their dishes to be both dairy free and gluten free. The chef also offered to make a custom dessert for her.

I was surprised to find this type of cuisine in Granbury! The quiet music and candlelight gave it a romantic ambiance. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was beautifully presented and Chef Megan Babineau prepared each dish with a wonderful mix of fresh ingredients and seasonings. We will return and will certainly bring out of town guests

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The blends of flavors on each dish were exquisite, and a special surprise was the chilled squash soup ( the roasted pepitas brought the entire dish together). Do not sleep on this dish; it’s a uniquely pleasant experience.

We loved it. Small, quiet, and tastefully understated the ambience immediately made us feel relaxed and welcome. The small staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and always on the spot at the right time. The menu was well thought out and expertly executed. The food was beautiful and delicious from the almond soup and mizuna salad appetizers to the perfectly prepared Red Deer chops and Tilefish through to the Panna Cotta for desert It is wonderful to find this high level cuisine out here off of the beaten path.
