I’ve been to many L&L restaurants. The one in El Cajon is rude, shabby and they’re constantly closing their dining area as well as closing before they’re posted hours. The employees have a we don’t care attitude and it has driven me away from this location permanently.

Immediately some girl with two different eye shadows on each eye was SUPER rude. And the front end girl was ghetto and no one person greeted us as it was our first time comping in but everyone that they new that came in was greeted and served before us. We walked out before ordering because they were that rude.

I would like to start this review off by saying the lady who works in the front is very nice and have us excellent service. However, my wife and I got our food severely burnt, and the taste was horrifying. It tasted like there was some type of chemical cleaner that was cooked into the meat. I wish I could describe the smell and taste. They also have their cooks smoking out front which is an obvious public health violation. This is very disappointing considering L&L is usually one of our favorite places to eat, and this was our first time at this broadway location and definitely our last. I am really hoping to convey this as a possible warning if you have kids, or eat here yourself I would just be a bit mindful.

I usually love this place. I always get the katsu curry when I’m too lazy to make it at home or am out and about cravin comfort food. I don’t know who was on cooking duty today because the curry was NOT the usual. I know they use S&B curry (a Japanese brand) or one like it, but this curry was nothing close. It was watery and tasted like ginger. No flavor, not a rich sauce, no salt, nothing, I only tasted ginger. They basically gave me a slightly thickened ginger water with my fried chicken. The color was off too it was green not the usual color but I decided to give it a try since looks are deceiving. Only gave 2 stars because they completed my request on giving me double white rice and the rice was nice and fluffy. Never coming back though.. they weren’t busy and as far as I know, I was nice to them and they were nice to me so I’m sure it was an issue with the kitchen and nothing malicious. It’s terrible as I haven’t been able to eat all day because of working and errands.

Food was very average. The bbq was a large slab of meat that was overcooked on the outside and or wasn’t cut. The mac salad is overrated. I’ve had better i.e. Kroger brand. Shrimp was overcooked too. Idk why they have a steady business. Maybe I ordered the wrong items? I threw my leftover out.
